Much better places in NY for better prices. Poor customer service all around.

Due to the nature of Manhattan, the rooms are small, but it is a clean and well maintained hotel. Location is also good.

Honestly, reading reviews here and on Tripadvisor had some doubts about staying here. However, the stay was definitely better than expected. The Good 1. Location: Either first timer in NYC or simply wanting to stay in a different area for repeat visitors, I do think this area is ok to stay despite being touristy and for this hotel just like many hotels around the area is a good spot to go around NYC, besides midtown west, Times Sq, Broadway, also good base to explore the Hudson Yard and surrounding area. Of course being in such a location also will have the homeless, drug problems etc., however, not the hotel fault and this location is actually so much better than many other hotels in the same area. 2. Some refurbishment or major works must have been done to the hotel as it looks and feels fresh. The lobby is bright and welcoming for NYC standard. 3. The room itself also exceed expectations with spacious room for NYC standard, nice, clean room and bathroom in general. Room also seems updated and many USB charging points. The bedding was also very comfortably and also a 'pleasant' surprise to have two bottles of water in room. Not sure if they do top up or not. The Others 1. Housekeeping: Not exactly sure how it works, but I believed could be manpower issues, lacking of staff. Although not a problem for me as I generally don't require housekeeping as I do not like people really coming in to touch up my room with my stuff around (unless is super luxurious hotel). I do have ways to keep my own room clean/tidy and would occasional ask for amenities like shower gel top up and towel etc., which was quite fast. I stayed 4 nights btw. However, foresee some people might mind without the daily housekeeping. 2. The lift Mostly ok, but especially hard to get into and wait during check-out time around 11am to 12pm, and particularly when you have big/lotsa luggage. However, just gonna be patient as impossible for them to build a 3rd lift. Overall, still good and worth a stay here.

Stayed 4 nights for business trip Staff at the counter and restaurant are friendly Breakfast is a la carte Delicious meals Average servings The room is not big, it will feel cramped with 2 beds The temperature of the shower equipment is not well controlled, it is easy to be too cold or too hot Didn't really clean up, can find the hair left by the previous tenants, the area under the table that is not used often has a thick accumulation of dust

Julie... Cheers for your answer. The reason I asked this question is exactly what you have said "this isn't a resort" but I've seen some hotels charging upto $55 above what is advertised... According to NYC law a this tax is illegal because its a "hidden" tax hence why I'm asking the question!!
No. There is no smoking in any rooms in NY.
Hello! All guestrooms, bathrooms and public spaces have been recently renovated. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful hotel.
the hotel does not charge resort fees as of yet
What robot?
I am also interested in the helicopter flight. How to get there by metro
No, however they do have a great service that we used. Bella with her car. She work independently but works for the hotel. Cost to JFK was 75 dollars. Plus she was so lovely and friendly. May be get in touch with the hotel and they can get Bella to pick you up. We also used a taxi from JFK to the hotel when we arrived.
They will secure your luggage until you are ready to retrieve them.
Close by and many options available on 36th to 34th
Parking will cost a fortune. You are better off using public transportation or walking.
Staying above 8th floor is a good suggestion, but it will take forever for the elevator. We stayed on 14th floor and we walked up....and down everyday. Good work out though.
Just a tip, download the spot hero app, it saved me a bunch of money on parking for 4 days in NYC there. Good luck!
