How is our only publicly-funded county stray shelter NOT ACCEPTING STRAY DOGS? That you cannot take in due to having two large dogs unwilling to share their home with a strange new dog, and cannot drive him somewhere like the humane society?

I'm no longer paying taxes on the Missouri side of the river. There's no way I'm going to support the lack of help from animal control. I've filed several complaint about the neighbor's dog and nothing has happened. Every single day I see alerts of someone's dog running around the neighborhood. Residents have to take care of stranger's dogs because animal control can't return phone calls. This is ridiculous.

I have seen only cats and dogs. Don't know if they have other animals for adoption
If you're looking for a lost pet, check out http://www.stllostpets.org. If you're just looking to adopt from county, go to https://www.stlouisco.com/Health-and-Wellness/Animal-Care-Control/Adoptable-Pets
Yes, if there is a worker or volunteer to put them in the get-aquainted room.
It's not a dog rescue, it's an animal shelter. Adoption fees are only $40.
The vast majority are under that weight. Most are put bills or put mixes, approximately 55-75 lbs. I got an Australian Blue Heeler there in June and he is 53 lbs.
Check out their website for current dogs, if they dont have beagles maybe you'll see another that tugs at your heart
The animals they have constantly change, I suggest calling and asking or stopping in to see availability
Don't take them to County Animal Control, take them to the APA. They are more likely to make it out alive. And get your cat fixed, shelters are so overcrowded with cats that 50 percent of them are put to sleep.
This is a public forum. You will need to call the center for the information.
Do you make an appointment to go to the doctor, consider this the same situation. Also, you didn't indicate which location you went to, appointments are normal practice will ensure both the "visitor" and the pet being sought gets priority focus. GRANDPA KAREN, you need to chill - maybe VOLUNTEER to clean cages and spend a day in their shoes.
When I adopted our dog there a couple years back it was $40
If tou bring food. Puppy or kitten. They never have that. Towels any size any kind. Collars any kind any size . Puppy and kitten collars. Soft toys. Stuffed animals that don't have a lot of decorations on them. Stainless steel bowls any size.
No. Masks are required, staff has to walk you through.
No, flat rate. Covers shots. Being fixed
Im not sure on that, everything i did was thru their website.
Petfinder is pretty accurate. You can filter by shelter. Also you can call and they'll then email you a list of available pets.
I think they might have had one or two when I was there. You can visit their website and see all of the animals up for adoption.
Surrender them they will take them off your hands! I had to surrender my baby and it was so hurtful!
They are a shelter. You must go and look at what they have available.
Yes they do. BUT it is always best to try to place them in a loving home first!!! Afterall, STL County DOES EUTHANIZE !!!
Yes but it is better to call to get accurate pricing
No more than 2 dogs or 3 cats
Are you still interested in this offer? I’m in need of a foster if possible. Like ASAP
10-4 Saturday and Sunday
Yes. 10-4 Sat & Sun
They will accept him I believe
Go to a vet
Call St. Louis County Animal control. They'll pick it up and see if its microchipped.
You can drop her off free of charge, but I would recommend looking into area Pitbull Rescues first. We get a ton of pitties and because of county restrictions they tend to sit in the shelter a lot longer than other breeds. Pitbull rescues may be better at guaranteeing her a verified loving home.

The website is very up to date. https://www.stlouisco.com/HealthandWellness/AnimalCareControl/AdoptablePets
Yes
I am so sorry about your baby. The best advice I can give is to call them. They have multiple locations. I know this location is the adoption center, and they do have a vet there at times. However, I'm not sure if their vet is available to the public. Your best bet may be too surrender your baby and then have them put him down, but you won't know if they actually do. I think ACC in the city has euthanasia svcs.
They do not do any outside work or I should say they don't have an outside animal clinic.
I saw big and small, young and older. Unfortunately too many pit bulls. Probably hard to find homes for them due to their reputation. They have pictures with age, description, etc on their website.
Please don't declaw your cat, it's cruel! It would be like chopping off the ends of your fingers. Would you like that? We did it to my cat when i was a child and I feel really bad about it. I don't think vets like to do this anymore. I currently have cats. I buy a scratching post and spray it with liquid catnip (Walmart). They love it! No problem. If you are concerned about them fighting, Vicki is right. It takes time to adjust. Google how to introduce new cats together. The info is out there. If you have any problems, consult a cat behaviorist (your vet can recommend one).
Most of their dogs are pit bills and pit mixes. I lucked out and got an Australian Blue Heeler. He's about 50 pounds and cost $40. That includes spay/neutering, shots, microchip, and a bag of dog food.
I think they will take any and all. I know Stray rescue and The Humane Society on Macklind.
Depends on the animal you want. They all have to be spayed/neutered first, and if they're not they have to have the surgery before they can leave. If they are already fixed they can potentially go home same day if your background check passes.
Im assuming 18 but i have an Anatolian Shepard half Lab that i am looking for a family to adopt no charge. He's a beautiful family friendly playful 8 yr old dog But i will only let him go to a very dog loving- friendly family. He's a great dog and i am fostering due to him being homeless. @ Facebook at Daniel Anderson. Thx
I adopted a 5 year old beagle last August. I am so glad that I did, she is a joy and wonderful companion since the loss of my husband. A great place to meet your future canine companion just waiting to find a permanent home. Go see what's available this week.
yes
They just have random stray dogs there . The puppies come n go fast . Your best bet is to check with them. They have a ton of pitbulls
Yes they do
Be a responsible human being and take your dog to a shelter. No shelters pick up owner surrenders. Also, the shelter on Hanley is the APA a local shelter not the ASPCA which is a national organization.
They have very few "puppies", but a good selection of younger dogs as well as other age ranges. There's changes literally daily, your best bet is to stop in and see what/who is available.
Sometimes County has them. If not, try Serendipity German Shepherd Rescue - Google it
Availability varies time to time. You have to keep checking the website. They will go very fast specially the medium and the small ones.
Im not sure, but i think they do. Check the website.
Call them and ask
So, you want to kill your dog because he's sticky. That doesn't make any sense to me. Do you even know what "viscous" is? It's matter that is in between a liquid and a solid, like a glue or gel. There is NO WAY that your DOG is viscous, dude. You're lying! Or you're illiterate.
Yes. Nothing, but you run the risk of them putting it down, especially if it's older.
All that and application
U can try to turn it in to the St Louis pet adoption center and if u just surrender it it's free of charge
Its best if you call for help, this is not usually monitored by the businesses.
