Please don't declaw your cat, it's cruel! It would be like chopping off the ends of your fingers. Would you like that? We did it to my cat when i was a child and I feel really bad about it. I don't think vets like to do this anymore. I currently have cats. I buy a scratching post and spray it with liquid catnip (Walmart). They love it! No problem. If you are concerned about them fighting, Vicki is right. It takes time to adjust. Google how to introduce new cats together. The info is out there. If you have any problems, consult a cat behaviorist (your vet can recommend one).
They have plenty of cats for adoption...$40 is the cost..you have to fill out an application...cats usually take a few weeks to get along together...they do not refund the money...ask your vet about declawing
Dawn is right. Declawing is exceedingly cruel. You also run the risk that the cat may NEVER use a litter box again after he's declawed because of the pain, even when he's healed. Many have aversions you things and never quite revert back. They have amazing memories. Btw, I am assuming you want to "ADOPT" a cat even though you said you wanted one for "adaption". I don't know the price since I don't work there, but you can find most answers to your questions on their website if you had just looked there first instead of randomly asking redundant questions. However, my daughter acquired a pair of cats from there about a year ago, and I believe the adoption fee for cats is $40, but I'm not completely certain. I did know FOR CERTAIN that they do NOT give refunds. They do, however, let you bring the animal back and exchange it on occasion for one reason or another, but they may only let you do that once. You'll have to ask. Your best bet would be to bring your cat to the adoption center.
I agree with Vicki.
