Southgate Towers Apartments in Baton Rouge

We actually really like the location and apartments, but my sons who have lived there several months have reported, multiple times and through multiple avenues both in person and written, some major issues like multiple ceilings leaks (one of which makes their bathroom shower unusable bec of water dripping out of a hole in the ceiling the size of a dinner plate), doors that will not close, a broken elevators on their floor and a broken microwave in their kitchen to the management to no avail. They love living there, but we are very disappointed in the maintenance response. We hope the major things gets resolved quickly bec they really don’t want to move, but they also hate not being able to use half the amenities within their apparent for which they are paying. Maintenance did, however, fix their broken AC 3 days after it was reported. So, that was good.

Southgate Towers is a great place to live. Personnel from the leasing office as well as the maintenance staff are super friendly and we’re quick to address any questions or concerns. I genuinely felt very safe living here compared to other places around Baton Rouge. I highly recommend Southgate Towers to anyone looking for a place to live near the LSU campus.

I did not lease with this apartment complex, solely because I was able to buy a house. Tammy, who works in the office, was very welcoming and informative in the entire process. If I did not buy a house, I would have leased here right away!

New resident as of May 1 2021. Tammy has been very nice and helpful with the move in. Update April 7 2022, Lease is ending this month. The staff have been very responsive and helpful throughout the year. Ashlyn has assisted greatly with the move out process.
