Yesssss! 100000x yes! This is a free camping beach and it’s absolutely beautiful! It was a little littered which made me sad, but it is gorgeous. It’s easy to drive in and out and wasn’t too crowded. One word of advice: bring mosquito spray. The mosquitos are terrible! Other than that, we had the best time and are already planning our trip back!

For somebody originally from Alabama, being able to park alongside the beach and camp while visiting was unheard of to me. Mind-blowing experience, I can't wait to go back with more than just myself! Slowly falling in love with Texas! Beautiful beach. Starry nights are just as incredible 🤩

I had a wonderful time out there it was very peaceful not a lot of people were out there but that's because it was supposed to storm that day which it did it was really pretty being able to watch the storm roll in that day had a great time

No. There is beach all the way down to San Luis Pass. Plenty of beach to camp
Yes there open and you can park on the beach. I highly recommend you drive to Florida and you will never go to a Texas beach again.😁
As of July 2, the county beaches from Surfside to San Luis Pass are still open.
Yes, we camp there all the time. Grill, build campfires, park right on The beach.
Yes beware of the killer crabs though. There was a family attacked recently. A herd of 100 plus clawed their way through the tent and several toes were lost
Yes it will
There Is tent camping on the free beach access(county beach) there is no public showers anywhere in surfside and you can not tent camp under the bridge. There is public restrooms by the surfside jetties.
I'm having an issue finding a spot to camp free with bathroom showers bye surfside Can someone help me
There friendly but after three day cops come run you off the beach if your stationary more than 3 days
It is open 24 hours
You know it's cute how some people come the beach to people watch threw social media. But the truth is I come here off and on not just because I just love the beach. I hate the sand but to be honest it was the only place I had to go for almost two years. The only time I had any problems was when I invited a "Friend" to keep me company. Total train wreck. The surfside police does a great job as well as the County officer's that grace us with their presence and security. Thank you Surfside Beach.
It's kinda cold here. I have been to a local beach where I live and the bay water is very cold.
As far as I know
There is at Quintana beach
Yes in a safe manner
Not really, just be aware of your surroundings.
And
yes
Yes, it's just extremely dark out there at night, so best to start it early and keep it going.
Just show up. 14 day limit.
Just look for the heavy rig parking sign.
There is a free beach and there is also a pay part
You shouldn't just stay on the beeten path
It's FREE!!! Yes...camp there too! The ocean is a magical place to be near. Jave fun.
Yes, but you should really keep them leashed if they like running up to people... but my dogs prefer to be in the water than bugging people. Just be mindful of the weather bringing undertows
Most definitely you can do both ..
Anywhere along the free beach at Surfside. It's clean and pretty!
Qintanna boat ramp is a good spot for traps or line. This is just passed the boat ramp. Its another spot. Dropped pin Near Freeport, TX 77541 https://maps.app.goo.gl/H6MKNjkvF56UKPzq7 All along this road. Even the ditch has big blues in it.
You can stay up to 14 days.
The beach is a drive on beach, so you can drive directly onto it and park for as long as you like
Anything further out than yucca st should be pretty good.
Yes fire are allowed on beach and there are self made pits around or you can make your own
I think so. Also, you can drive your vehicle and park on the beach
Usually hot during the day. Cooler at night
Yes.. !!👍
maybe on the county beach on the east side
There are, but most people just camp on the beach.
Closing only at 9 p.m.
Any local store or gas station, and usually on weekends, there is an attendant to take your money for a permit as you enter any of the beach areas.
Surfside Freeport
You can always camp on the beach.
Get here early!!!👍
Yes
Yes but on the County side which is farther down from Surfside.
Yup. Look for the big sign that says BEACH ACCESS.
Yes. Be alert to your access road so as not get trapped if weather gets severe.
Actually, I ALWAYS setup on the Dune side of the travel way, close to the Dunes. That way, they provide a Natural Wind Break, too.
It is free.. But there may be a closing time that would keep you from staying all night.. Try google..
A campground
Yes
Not in surfside, just people that do there own on the county beach.
We were North of Stahlman Park. Free camping, but bugs are bad!
Yes, as "Everyone's Rancor" said. You can either drive out on the Beach and park, or park in the parking lot and walk the short distance through the dunes, to the Beach. You can also overnight camp right on the Beach.. AND, ALL 3 ARE ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!
Usually not crowded, except on any holiday weekend in the summer.
Yes you will see a sign that says free beach access
Yes you can. However, if you plan on detaching from the vehicle, you will need a separate beach tag on the trailer.
Free Beach is free to camp over night and fishing is also permitted. You may even have a small fire as well. Have a great time.
We were yold one place for 2 weeks, but nothing stopping you from moving for 2 more
Only the city side you're allowed to park near the water...the other side without needing a permit, park near the dunes.Traffic is directed one way...many ignore it.
I sure hope so!
