Pets are required to be on a leash 6 feet or shorter at all times in State Parks in NC.
All of the buildings are wheelchair accessible, though as one might predict, the hiking trails are not suitable for wheel chair travel.
Yep 22$ per person. Really worth it!! My husband and I had a great time. Especially seeing the bears and the cougars. The otters were cute too! And of course love the bridge!
You can take the stairs or an elevator to the path and then you are practically there.
Yes, but they are short. The majority of the hikes at Grandfather Mountain are suited for experienced hikers in great shape. If I was pregnant I would wait to go.
This listing is referring to Grandfather Mountain State Park, not to be confused with the privately owned Grandfather Mountain nature park (Mile High Swinging Bridge, wildlife habitats, etc.). Admission to the latter costs $22 per adult and $9 per child, and reservations are now required, although various discounts are available (AAA, military, senior, etc.). You can book online at grandfather.com.
Nope! Just drive up to the gate entrance and purchase your pass. 🙂👍
Maybe at Linville Falls?

Several really good trails. Depending on how young. There is a parking lot that says last trail before peak.. It's about a half a mile walk. It's not too bad. Again being attentive is the key. You can also check out an app called AllTrails. It will give you... All trails.. And show photos and you can decide depending on your level of comfort
Yup, I meant the swinging bridge ☺. Thanks for the reply. This helps...
The pass is just for the day
Not to the swinging bridge, they have shuttles to take you all the way up
Usually the end of October and beginning of November are pretty good bets. See if they have a live cam nearby
No but there are private campgrounds close by.
I have seen pets throughout the park, but I'm unsure whether bear feeding is allowed.
Leave at 6
It's open year round.. It's free to hike up the bridge.. You have to pay park entrance fee.. No additional fees inside..
