Definitely one of the most beautiful and professional camp grounds I have been to. The park rangers and camp hosts were really nice. The views were beautiful and breath taking. There were so many trails, and in the 3 days I've been here, I wasn't able to go on all of them. There is still so much for me to see and do here. I highly recommend going here!

My wife and I love this place. It is become our regular go to place for outdoor activities camping bike riding and hiking. There’s miles and miles and miles of trails and let’s not forget frisbee golf. Campsites are nice and spread apart people are friendly. Great RC flying field. Unfortunately Idaho state parks doubled their costs for out of state residence which makes a Farragut State Park and all other Idaho parks unaffordable. Yearly vehicle pass is now $80 and a one night stay is $74. We will continue to go on daily basis but probably not to camp anymore. If you’re an Idaho resident I highly recommend this place. And if you want to get out for a day of hiking and biking there isn’t a better place around.

Clean and organized. Lots to do both on and off the water. I loved that RV parking options were better than many camping areas with extra room to breathe and have a little privacy. Trails were fun. Bayview was also fun and full of history.

We camped here a few nights. Electric, no water or sewer. We have a pull through site on a round lot. The gravel for the table was nice and raked between ever guest. It is a beautiful park. We went running along the road, we played at the playground and went out on a boat on the docks. They even have life jackets you can borrow.

I agree with Miss Snook those are the best parts to launch a kayak that I have seen.
My cousin got married out there. So yes they do weddings. It was a gorgeous view with the lake in the background. Not sure of the cost.
They turn off the water Oct 1. Camping is still lots of fun there. It’s much quieter and there is just something about sitting by the fire even if it’s frosty!
If you like driving 20 mph on blacktop roads. This is a campground type area, not an ohv area.
This is on one of the largest and deepest lakes in the Western United States. It is 1700 feet deep. Great lake trout fishing along with many others.
Showers are free, you don't need to know much. Just that it's beautiful and for us that live here, respectful tourism is appreciated 😊
We stayed in Gilmore, LOVED it! They post the sites that are available for 1 night but best to check things out at the registration office. Also you can reserve sites from 9 months out but be quick they fill up fast!
There are only a few campgrounds still open. All spaces are walk-up, no reservations. Most, if not all, have water and electricity. Don't know if any have sewer. But there is a sump station right nearby.
The range is managed by the IDFG. Paper targets only. Up to .50 cql. The cost is $10 for a daily use fee. There are 3 lengths of shooting ranges, plus a shotgun/ clay pigeon range.
Motorhomes are allowed. Pricing varies depending on discounts. For example if you have the passport you get a discount. I believe there's also a senior discount. For motorhomes they have Water and Electric but no sewer. You have to use the dumping station.
Check their website for current tent fees, some camps are more private than others but they're all fantastic. Trails range from a simple 5 minute walk to hiking a mountain. The visitor center has a 3 dimensional light up map with most of the trails and campgrounds along with free site maps which you can take when you're hiking.
Yes
There are only 5 parks that charge double for camping. Most Idaho State Parks camping fees have not changed. The 5 most crowded parks were chosen on purpose to free up space for Idaho residents to enjoy those parks. You can camp in Idaho for lower rates just not at Farragut. You must be a voting resident to claim residency.
You can rent them at the Visitor Center.
There is winter camping available. I would contact the visitor center for most up to date info. By November 1 all the other campgrounds have closed.
The Beaver Beach is a good day spot. There are two sides the left side may have better snorkeling views but more water movement.
Check out time is 1pm Check in time is 2pm
Charcoal is allowed in campgrounds and cabins. They are not allowed at beaver bay beach. You do have to clean up after yourself.
It's clean.
Your dog isn’t allowed at beaver bay beach. That said, there are miles of trails that are right on the edge of the lake and you can take Fido for a walk and he can get wet. At sunrise day use area there is a gravelly beach area where you can take him swimming and you can jump in with him. That beach does attract a crowd. I walked my dogs from Gilmore campgrounds to buttonhook bay and there were lots of places for dogs to get wet. You can access the lake side trails from sunrise day use, beaver bay beach parking lot, and the boat launch parking.
No, 12 years old.
My husband has had great results fishing off the shore along the trails. He pulled in a bass on almost every cast.
You'll find you catch a lot of trout but if you venture into the little town of Bayview, there's an awesome bait shop to your right that has anything you could need, & their son is FULL of tips for Lake Pend Oreille fishing 😉
I am not 100% but I do believe it is left open. Hope that helped.
Yes there is
Depends on time of year. They do reservations and take walk-up but you need to call the office to get a better idea. They have mostly reserved camping
There is frisbee golf. And a zip line tree to tree course. Many campsites are located directly on the lake
I know there's a specific time of the season when it opens, but I would consultant the website. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.
As long as you don't release them. Discarded balloons are harmful to wildlife https://www.fws.gov/news/blog/index.cfm/2015/8/5/balloons-and-wildlife-please-dont-release-your-balloons
The camp sites we have stayed at don't, but there are sites like Gilmore campground which have grassy area's by them. White tail campground has a large area with grass by the flushable toilets & hot showers that have a playground.
Yes they're big enough for any size unit in a lot of spots
Yes just call their office
Check online first to make sure they have one. If they do reserve one and then go pick it out.
Yes. On leash and as usual clean up after them.
Yes, your trailer and town vehicle will fit if it's a 20 footer.
Depends on what kind of campsite. The reservations can get cancelled or changed.
Visitor center closes at 8. You will need to check with them on checking in after hours.
I'm not sure I understand your question, but I looked at weather.gov and I see that they predict next few days the winds are 3 to 9 miles per hour and there a chance of thunderstorms on Sunday. There is no mention of wind the next few days after that.
Reservations dont start until middle of May, walk in only at this time
Kokanee, trout
There is still about a foot of snow in places. The roads are clear, except some of the side roads.
Damn I hate Facebook! Don't they have a website too I'm pretty sure I looked at it one time. Just say no to drama book
The only discount for camping is if you have an Idaho parks pass. I think you can purchase at the visitor center.
You may make reservations up to nine months in advance and they are open March through November.
