I called because we have a dying stray cat outside amongst the 20+ catch and release cats that already live here. They wouldn’t even drop off a trap and wouldn’t come out to try to help. They said I had to pay $50 to rent a trap. Pretty pathetic that it costs money to try to help a dying animal.
Shelly J
Went to see the cats. Love the way they aren't all in cages like they used to be many years ago.
Glenda Smart
Got absolutely no help at all
Cherie Clark
I love that they are a no kill facility

Would you be willing to foster? It's really rewarding to take in an animal that's not doing well in the shelter or an animal that's injured or abused and making them well again. Then finding them their forever home is bittersweet. I love it! Certain rescues will let you pick the adopter's, do the home checks, etc. That's really important to me because I want to be sure that this animal that I've made whole again will never be harmed again. Don't get me wrong, I know people that work at the HSU, but I don't like their foster program. I prefer to work with rescue groups. If you'd like more info let me know.
I would start asking your neighbors if they were familiar with these cats. If so, contact the owners. It's easy to Google the phone #.
Yes you have to make an appointment. There are currently no walk-ins
Call them directly and they can help.
Go to animal services on 3rd w 4200 so for shots mobile clinics for fix based on income so you should be fine. Humane society same location
Only if you live within the city ordinances of salt lake. If it's south salt lake you live and found the cat. You'll have to take them to the south salt lake animal shelter
What city where you in? Usually it goes to salt county if the city doesn't have an established animal shelter. Look up in Google maps what animal shelter is closest to you. You can call as well, to ask staff members if their facility is the right place to report the abuse. Thank you for being a good samaritan, not many people left in this world like you.
You can call Best Friends of Utah and they can find it a good home.
Take pictures or video as proof and show it to animal control. Google SLC animal control to find the local number. Even if they don't over see your area, I'm sure they know who does and can give you their number.
I would contact Salt Lake County Animal services. Also, if you are part of the Next door neighborhood app, you may wish to post something. Good luck
Will do basic shots & rabbis not a full clinick
Yes. You can leave either of those in our donation bin that’s just inside the main door 10-6, Tue-Sat
Yes they have dogs that need adoption
You must be 18 to volunteer.
Salt Lake County Animal Services does NOT take in owned pets. You will need to contact the Humane Society of Utah.
Yes! If you check their FB page or call, they can let you know which items they need. I know that clean towels and pet food are pretty much universally good options.
Well you probably have to leave it out a couple nights at least. If it keeps changing they may be way too sus about it. Wet cat food is pretty cheap try a couple different things too?

Goggle for caws org
To view our adoptable pets, visit: https://slco.org/animal-services-apps/pets/
Yes on the appointment, they do have other animals as they come and yes they need foster and volunteers.
I feel like you need a trainer for your barking dog.
You would have to check with the animal services to see what types and colors of cats they have
Not to that one call humane society they said they only take strays humane society take surrender s.
Rid of the dog? I get rid of the trash. Rid of used motor oil, I find a loving home for the dog. You have to get a hold of the microchip company
Do go in and you can also look online: https://slco.org/animal-services-apps/pets/
Lori, sometimes animal control will accidentally scoop up community cats & kittens. Call or go in to see if the kittens are up for adoption. Animal control will also TNR (Trap Neuter Return) cats but the workers won't always return the kitties to the same area.
The only reasons why they would take animals is if they're in an abuse full situation, or if found on the street. For example my friend lost his dog and they found him. They posted him on their website, and he was able to find him. They did not take him just found him
If it is not in their area there are several other shelters near by including the humane society in Murray.
Please just go to the shelter during business hours to redeem your pet. We cannot quote fees over the phone.
Volunteers must be 18 years old. Children under 18 are invited to come read to the cats via the Book Buddy program. Cats love being read to in the colony rooms.
Reisha - call Dispatch at 801-743-7000 and coordinate with an Animal Control Officer to come pick up the animal. Or wait till the building is open at 10 AM and come drop it off.
If you feel a dog is being abused or neglected, please call the animal shelter in your area and let then know so they can go check it out.
Yes but im not sure about 100$
You can report it to your local animal services, they can serve a form to the dog owner letting them know of the complaint but it depends on the owner and if they are decent human beings to care enough about the neighborhood otherwise it can be taken to small claims court. Sorry not much help with animal services. Maybe if you go to the owner and speak to them first things can be resolved. Best of luck.
It is to your success to inform your Mother and have her go with you to see the different chihuahua. Let her decide which one is her match.
No, My daughter in law adopted a dog from there and when they took him back and she went in to claim him, they had no record of ever adopting him to my daughter in law. They do not keep records. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!
Volunteers are always welcome. I would contact the facility to ask what are limitations. I know the Humane Society accepts volunteers as well. Call both places and I'm sure you can get some advice.
Depends on the puppy and tech handling during the shots. Being calm for the puppy makes the pup more relaxed and then the shots wont be so scary next time. Make it a fun experience and your pup will love to see the vet.
To the counter inside. They also have a jar for cash if you don't want to eait in line.
Hello Shirley - please take the cats to the animal shelter that serves your city. There is no fee.
Please contact your local animal control. If the dogs are jumping the fence, this is a public safety issue. If you live in our jurisdiction please contact 801-743-7045.
Teresa, once a month we offer the Feline Fix. Depending on where you live, your cat can be neutered for a reduced cost. If you don’t want to wait for this next event, you will have to come into the shelter to make an appointment. https://www.facebook.com/events/331892177411947/?event_time_id=331892187411946?ti=ia
Any Salt Lake County unincorporated township: Kearns, Magna, Copperton, emigration Canyon, White City. Cities: Salt Lake City. Here’s more info: http://yourdogfriendlyagent.com/how-many-animals-are-you-allowed-to-have-in-each-wasatch-front-city/
You must be current on rabies shots , parvo shots, etc. You can call the clinic at Animal Services and ask them.
You would have to call in to find an answer to thay. My assumption is no, you would have better luck with one of the many rescue organizations around town.
They charge if you drop off butt they find homes
You'll need to call the Shelter when they open. Good luck.
I dispatch for the shelter, call the ask them about Trap N Release program... The cats with clipped ears are already fixed, the TNR officers will come out there and teach you how to trap them and then what to do.
They are down the street from each other and always have adoptable dogs. They change frequently. It never hurts to check.
Just call them and they will pick it up no problem they are easy to work with!!🐶
Lots of animals put out a lot of sewage plus the food supplies have an odor. The building is as clean as possible. Just a side effect of lots of animals in a building.
Volunteers must be over 18 years-old. Anyone younger than that can come in and read to our cats as part of our Book Buddy program to socialize cats. We also have numerous group projects that can be done outside of the building. https://slco.org/animal-services/get-involved/volunteer/
Nathan - That would have been South Salt Lake's jurisdiction. Their phone number is (801) 483-6024
I'm sure they will .... Call them please.
The best friends animal clinics in orem and ogden will chip for free if animal is spayed or netuered.
Please think of the cats lives as well, they deserve better than to live that way. There are laws to prevent hoarding.
We do lend out live traps for cats. I’m not sure if it would work for a rat.
The officer will take your statement and will talk to the owner. The best thing to do is without tresspassing, is to take photos with time and date stamp of the bad situation so you can give those to the offer next time.
The Humane Society of Utah takes owner turnovers. Best Friends Animal Society does not. I would check with the apartment complex before turning the cat over. Most complexes are pet friendly.
Well, thanks but 1 flower bed is 20 feet by 3 feet and they use the whole thing
Salt Lake County Animal Services does not offer basic veterinary care. We do provide low cost vaccinations, and microchips.
Call and ask.
Yes. You'll need an appointment.
Call them and ask.
You can give them a call and they have a lot of brochures inside as well.
My dog had bitten someone before and she had to be quarantined. They find me then the law is if a dog bites someone, regardless of the circumstances, it is assistants quarantined to make sure it doesn't have health problems that harmful to humans.
Check the website
Rabies shots are free but you have to call and schedule well in advance and they only do them on Wednesdays. The humane society also does them during clinic hours (not shelter hours) for $15.
Call the non emergency dispatch and report the dog. Animal control will make contact with the owners and you the next day.
