Would you be willing to foster? It's really rewarding to take in an animal that's not doing well in the shelter or an animal that's injured or abused and making them well again. Then finding them their forever home is bittersweet. I love it! Certain rescues will let you pick the adopter's, do the home checks, etc. That's really important to me because I want to be sure that this animal that I've made whole again will never be harmed again. Don't get me wrong, I know people that work at the HSU, but I don't like their foster program. I prefer to work with rescue groups. If you'd like more info let me know.
I feed community cats, in the winter I make shelters for them. I'll start trapping to get spayed and neutered this spring with vouchers from Best Friends Humane Society. They're also always needing volunteers! 🐾
