Couldnt get an appointment for any sooner than 4 weeks out. Completely unacceptable. Have to drive to Warren county. Its completely ridiculous that you can't walk in for a replacement government document thats required for so many things in every day life.
Drew Pick
The issue I have is I had an appointment set, got there 15 minutes early an was still sitting there 30 minutes past my appointment time. What the point of an appointment if you don't get service by you appointment time.
Jane Kuehn
Nice facility, but the agent we were assigned to for driver license renewal was rude and surly
Sid Bolton
Offers online scheduling for knowledge test - but you can't pick a date, they text you with a date and time....so it's NOT scheduling. I have a prior commitment with the date/time they assigned me. I tried to call and cancel at 4:15pm and IDOT message states office closed, call back during normal business hours 8am-4:30pm. It's not scheduling, it's assigning you a time without asking if you're available.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Depends on a few things like if you are reinstating it after suspension etc. But normally between 20 and 30 bucks
When I last took the test, we went up Oralabor rd. Towards Walmart, and then back. Though it is likely they have different routes, I dont think the instructor was very comfortable in my rickety manual civic, because we barely travelled a whole mile! Parallel parking was performed in the lot, with traffic cones.
I think you can make an appointment for driving test. But you can go to the office if you want to to get get a new driver's license. They need to check the eyes.
Take care of requirements in California first. Then take your paperwork stating you completed all requirements for california reinstatement to iowa office
They're 25 questions, but If you answers 19 right away without mistake...you passed.
They both have been removed, no more kiosks, no more convenience
Try and contact them! I mean blow them up!

Vehicle registration should be renewed with your county treasurer's office.
Ask the delivering company
Here's a link to the Iowa DOT's website with all the information. https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/under-18.
That depends on the type of license you're getting. Here's a link to the Iowa DOT website with those fees - https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/fees-and-license-type
Oh wow, well I'd check with the Polk County Clerk of Court and make sure, otherwise I'd say your good to go!!
You will need an appoinment for a drive test. Other services are done "first-come-first-served."
I had to go through a place called the drivers license Restitution Program.. You get your driving privileges back right away just make those monthly payments
You can absolutely make an appointment to do a driving test. The D.O.T. is closed on Monday but I would call first thing Tuesday morning and see what steps you need to take in order to make an appointment because you might have to go out there in order to do so.
If its it's a state of Iowa license then yes.
Yes, but you'll take that to your county treasurer's office. They handle vehicle registrations. Thanks!
If you are simply renewing your license, you can just come in. We don't accept appointments for renewals. If you need to schedule a drive test, you can call the driver's license service center.
Go to the DOT with your old ID and just tell them the new adress and they will give you a new License you will pay for without the yellow star. If you plan to fly though you will need the license with the star on your ID so if you dont want to pay another license fee just go with your ssi card and birth certificate. I went to update my adress and they wouldnt give me the license with the star even though I had my old License with me, stupidist rule and made absolutely no sense.
Here's a link to a map- https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/ If you're in the Des Moines area, go to 6310 SE Convenience Blvd, Ankeny, IA

53 feet for trailer and load, but once the overhang reaches 4 feet it is required to be marked with red flag and red lamps if traveling at night.
Usually a Government photo ID and a letter with a current address. Or on the website if you don't need changes to a current license you can order a replacement. Check their website before going in. They even have a kiosk if you do go in, don't need changes, and need to order your lost one. $10 if I recall correctly. https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/lost-or-stolen
Not sure but I'm sure it says on the website
Just dont say it's broken. They dont ask
If his ID is through the iowa DOT then they have his birth certificate on file so they shouldnt need that but he will need his ID and perhaps his ssc. Never hurts to bring both sometimes the DOT likes to make you jump through hoops
I don't think it's much at all
She needs her Social Security card, a letter/envelope addressed to her and might need a different photo ID like a school ID and possibly her birth certificate.
Going to their website and maybe looking that up in thier search engine might take you to it.
Bring your marriage certificate and your ID with your new name on it and any Bill's with your current address. I paid $6 before. I don't know how much now.
Social security card and birth certificate
You'd be better off asking them on Facebook. They'll respond
Lifetime for CDLs, otherwise 12 years from the start date unless you haven't met the reinstatement requirements.
No you need to go downtown to the motor vehicle building right off of court ave and 2nd
Its best to call their info center or go on dot website for specifics about your privilege:) license withdraw type and duration without privilege determine testing requirements:) you'll save yourself trips! www.iowadot.gov
Yes...the initial down payment has to be $100 (probably money order) and then I think you can set up your monthly payments to whatever you want.
Yes
It would be easier to go to the courthouse pay the ticket, and then take the proof of payment to the dot in Ankeny so they can lift your suspension. If you pay it online the same process happens but it takes about a week for the dot in Ankeny to get the information. Either way you will still have to make a physical trip to the dot in Ankeny to get your license reinstated
You won't need a REAL ID to fly this fall, but if you plan to fly after October 2020, it will be best to have one. When you do renew, it would be a good time to get a REAL ID, since you won't have to renew again until after 2020. Here's a link with more details https://iowadot.gov/mvd/realid/real-id-home
Get lawyer.they cant legally take your license.judge ordered police department to return mine
Go to, www.iowadot.gov ... there is a "worksheet " to complete there:) It's called "real id", look for that:)
It's likely that your old plates reached their 10-year lifespan. In Iowa, county treasurers handle vehicle registration. If you contact your local county treasurer, they would be able to answer your questions. Thanks!
Thanks for the question. For a more secure and complete answer to your specific information, can you please email [email protected]? Thanks!
No.
Euclid location YES:) Make sure to take you "document of legal presence" in addition to med cert and plastic credential. Kiosk NOT available for CDL certification.
If the truck exceeds 10,000lbs you must stop at weight stations Edit: typo
Tuesday,Friday, Saturday .. CLOSED Sunday Monday ... could beeligible to renew online:) iowadot.gov
You will need to go in to the driver's license station. That cannot be done at a kiosk or online.
I was there last week from 8:50am till 11:15am
You must go and get your ID because if late they gonna charge you
Just go to a license branch if you have had one in Iowa before they now have a digital copy
Think you have to just go dowbmn to the dot
Better call and ask
Have you had one before? Then yes.
Better call in an ask or look on the site
If you never had license or new to the state, yes or a passport. Go to the website iowadot.gov. it does really help.
No
You must go in or to a kiosk.
Go to dot website and go look up. U can download the driving manual it should be in there
Yes, they both cost but the permit isn't valid that long and is a paper permit.
No...you have to test at the ankeny office
I would borrow someone's car, nice car, that has insurance. Assuming it's a driving test. You don't need insurance to renew license or for ID unless it's SR22 or court ordered. Merry Christmas!
Call the county traffic court that where I would start.
Not on Monday and Sunday
6months i think but not 100% on that
No as it is not considered to be a moving violation
The only thing you need is glasses if you wear them while you drive
Need to know what in IA.DMV. is holding up me getting my Ca.license .My name is Ronnie Longmire
In Iowa, they can now look you up by name and date of birth and issue a new ID when you go into the DOT office.
Yes
I'd call up and ask them
Yes if not expired yet
You need 2 documents, they are listed on the I9, you'll need one from each category; i.e. birth certificate, and social security card. You can use a government or state issued I.D. card in place of a birth certificate. That example assumes you dont have a photo I.D. yet. Hope this helps!
