Hi Maggie - Plates and vehicle registration are handled by your county treasurer. Here is the phone number for the Polk County Treasurer: 515-286-3030. Please give them a call and they will be able to help you get your plates transferred to Polk County.
I have plates from another county and want to get either blackout plates (fee) or just regular plates (fee) for Polk County. I live in Polk City. Where do I go or can this be done by mail. Need advise. Thank you.
I'm sorry, but the blackout plates are a "specialty plate." There is no insignia on that plate. To find out more, go to https://iowadot.gov/mvd/personalizedplates/home.aspx
