Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes they provide shelter, food, and very limited resources. The only downside is that the area is drug and alcohol infested. So if you're sober find a sponsor immediately.
Thank you Denver for feeding me... I appreciate it and glad to have a full belly. Next stop Omaha Nebraska
yes
Yes and across the street The Samaritan House does too. Unlike the Rescue Mission they host homeless families not just singles. They also take household items. As community activist feel free to pick my brain.
Truthfully yes you will have to worry bout that but that is anywhere really. Eat healthy an its upto you. Dont believe every negative remark. The only thing that sucks bout denver is the police department. Thats who is doing the most stealing an brewding hate with everyone who carries a backpack. Just the police suck bro the city is fine. The police here are like a stain in your underwear that wont wash out. Sure you could remove it and even though its not there anymore nothing is any better.
Go sign the a sheet there to speak to J Earl. He's a chaplain. The only program available right now is the new life program. But it lasts a year and they hell you get on your feet and if you graduate it , they will give u a car. Plus there are other benefits to using their assistance
You can smoke if you join the program at the Crossing in Denver. If you go up to the program in Wellington, Harvest Farm, you can not.
SOS camps or the shelter
No but if you take your eyes off of it for even 2 seconds. Someone will steal it. Be careful cuz ANYTIME you walk in with a backpack etc you have eyes on you
Yes, we would be happy to help anyone regardless of ethnicity/background.
You know you just show up there let's say before dinner at 5 eat dinner and then you'll get an ID card so you'll be able to get a bed
He needs to go to the lack next-door and sing up and he can sleep in there system that day.
Get there as soon as possible, and, you should be ok to get a bed anytime before 10:00pm... Safe travels, and, God Bless & Speed..
8:00am for breakfast and 12 o'clock for lunch and 6 o'clock for dinner an here's the number also 303)294-0157 ext. 1
If u work the Denver rescue Mission has the next step program I was in it
Afraid not sorry we have a program called next step if you join you'll be able to come in and see if it's something you'd be interested in doing..
About 4 blocks total. 2 blocks down and 2 over to Laurence. Denver Rescue Mission.
Yes. If you are able to get to the Denver Rescue Mission, they can help with that. There are resources they can help you to connect with to get back on track. Hang in there.
The Denver Rescue Mission has a few different options. The following options are for men only. If you are looking for a place to sleep temporarily, you can sign up for the bed list and maybe your name will get randomly picked. This happens daily and you must sign up each day for a chance to get on the bed list. If you do not make the bed list, you can wait at the mission every evening for a ride to an alternate shelter, and then catch a ride back to the shelter for breakfast the next morning. For a more long term solution, there are two different programs for men. The Next Step program and the New Life Program. Each program has certain qualifications, benefits and time commitments. I recommend speaking with a staff supervisor to learn more about each program and any other possible options that may be available. I joined the New Life Program in April of 2016 and am now almost to graduate in December of 2017. I am working, paying debts and have had legal issues resolved. Great program!
Alondra - You will need to present some form of official ID when you first arrive at the location.
The Lawrence Street location hosts a Outreach Court the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The next time it is hosted in conjunction with the Denver Rescue Mission is Oct. 14 7:30 a.m. is check-in | 8-9 a.m. meet with Attorney | 9 a.m. Court begins
Please try St. Francis they do offer vouchers for a free state ID or License. However there are other agencies that will help you with a birth certificate. You will need to try online or at a social security office for a Social Security card. I got one recently and they required a signed medical record for identity. They would not accept a birth certificate.
Hi Edgard! Yes, guests at Lawrence Street Shelter have access to safe storage designed to store overnight guests' possessions during the day. If you have any further questions, please let us know or reach out to our team at 303.297.1815. Thank you!
Hello! Thank you for reaching out to the Mission. Shelters are unable to disclose any information on shelter guests. Denver Police would be the best resource for any missing person cases. Please let us know if you have any further questions and have a great rest of your week!
I think lots of ppl get on the light rail towards D never it takes u to union station which is near the Lawrence st shelter
Littleton life center is taking applications for severe weather hotel vouchers You would have to go there and apply on Thursday morning
Do u have a photo? Not to many people give out their real names here.
You can bring them to the Lawrence Street Shelter at 2222 Lawrence St...we accept donations everyday from 8am to 4pm
Hello Pedro! Thank you for reaching out to Denver Rescue Mission. If you would like more information about the services and programs we offer, you can call our main line at 303.297.1815. One of our receptionists will be able to chat with you in Spanish and answer all your questions. Thanks!
Hi Beatrice, thank you for reaching out to Denver Rescue Mission. For the safety of our guests we are not able to share if someone is staying with us. However, we are able to pass along this message to our front line staff and have them share this with Hector if he is indeed staying with us. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
yes he can receive mail at that location at any time.
Yes you could but in separate shelters
What does he look like? I know faces not names
The shelter is still open.
The Samaritan House across the street is for females
They have case workers at the shelter. There are a lot of programs available in Colorado and they will help him get set up.
I know of the program you are talking about. It's called new life.. I would call. Jesus saves.... The Lawrence Street Shelter and ask them to put you in contact with pastor Bob, I believe it is. The new life program inquire about that. I hear it's 9 to 12 months. I didn't qualify.
It's on Lawrence street.
Right now women are staying at the Coliseum. I believe you can go there anytime before 8pm for intake.
They don't help wit shit.make more homeless.horrible place
Yes the city has to come out and fix it. 48th Shelter is owned by the city and county of denver. Denver rescue mission maintenance can't do anything about it unless the city gives them the ok.
Check the contact info that they have
Vehicles would have to be parked in the neighborhood on the street. Our parking lots are reserved for staff and volunteers only.
Yes anyone can go you need to sign up before 6.00pm to stay there that night best wishes!
St Francis too just blocks away. Specific times too. 2323 Curtis Street, Denver, CO 80205 Saturday6:10AM–5:30PM Sunday6:10AM–5:30PM Monday(Columbus Day) 6:10AM–5:30PM Hours might differ Tuesday6:10AM–5:30PM Wednesday6:10AM–5:30PM Thursday6:10AM–5:30PM Friday6:10AM–5:30PM 303.297.1570
9:10 to be safe but it was suppose to be at least 9:40
If you go to the mission try and get into one of the programs its the best way to secure a bed !
As long as you already have an official "homeless" ID card, you can get a bed at the 48th St. "overflow" shelter up until btwn. 9- 9:30. But you will still be waiting in line for the charter bus to take you to that location.
Best time is around six. They feed jerrys kids first then they feed us next. Dude just get you a cane. Seriously its the key to everything.
Yes
The staff said they have no schedule for laundry
Women can only eat lunch.ladies gotta go Samaritan houseits for woman and familys
Only if you win the lottery and get transitional. You can get storage at st Francis day shelter though 3 blocks away. Free and month to month
If you need clothes just ask someone. I spent eight weeks in Denver and I never wanted for food clothing or place to stay because the people there are looking out for the people in the street not just missions. St Francis always has clothing showers phones mail and Health Services. It shouldn't be too hard to find what you need. Good luck God bless you
Should i stay at the denver rescue mission or samaritan house ? Thanks
No. But you can go to St. Francis on Curtis St. They got free storage.
Yes you start off with 55 days a d you work and stay upstairs in a bed. They will extend your time if you are working the program correctly. Check it out. I did it right when I was released. Now I have a better job, savings, I help manage a sober living house. Etc.
Not that I know of. Good for you, not wanting to hang out there more than necessary.
Intake's are done on Mon-Fri, call for questions, if there is room, they would only turn away rarely, violent offenses, etc. There are other places with similar programs, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, a quick phone call should answer any questions
James 48th street sheller holds 480 people, Holly bldg shelter holds 200 people, the rescue mission is for handicapped people who can't get on the bus hope that answers your question
No they come around there also at St Francis in the morning early
They do not piss test
You should go now. Open dinner starts after chapel which is at 5pm...(new life program )is long term.. the next step is the short term program the samaritan house has a bed lotto. Takes a couple of days to get a bed could be a potential of 90 days you can stay there. I just did all that in the fall and finally moved into sober living house. Ask for J Earl, or John ware
The Denver Rescue Mission ir tve Denver Salvation Army could use the iphone card donation
It's at 5:00. But its not only for men. They also help women and families.
They can help guide you. St Francis as well. Please reach out. God is Great!
Shelter fo men only look at Samaritans hohse
You can smoke cigs not weed they have programs there as well come down or call to get more info
Yes you can..
Not really for women. Although there are plenty of women exclusive shelters in the immediate area.
Lawrence Street you can smoke in the courtyard. No smoking indoors.
On the patio
We may get 6" to 12" on the ground at one time
Its only a day shalter for wemen. And overnight for men only
Hi I am alone deaf so no one communication so I am sad I don't go there no more
St Francis center opens 6:15 of that is what you mean by chores
What's up Freddie? A lot of the info you have received is not accurate. Although there are programs in which you are required to work...there are also programs that are specifically geared for those, like me, who are in transition and are unable for whatever reason to commit to a 40 hour work requirement. There are also day and overnight shelters nearby. Colorado has plenty of opportunities to help get yourself on the right path. Good Luck and God Bless.
Denver Rescue Mission is MEN ONLY. The Catholic mission across the street accepts women and families.
It is good to be right there around 5:00pm.good luck😊
No paperwork to stay initially. You just have to create a profile and they will issue an ID. You are required to get a TB test and bring the results back within the first 10 days. Otherwise you are barred until you bring the results
The convention NEEDS volunteers toi!!! Happy Thanksgiving
Every other Wednesday
