SCAM ALERT! I rented a car for my stay in Tampa Wednesday May 5th to Saturday May 8th. I was told the employee named Robert that they did not open on weekends, so they had to put it in the system as May 5th to Friday May 7th instead, however I could leave the car in the lot Saturday morning and the keys in their drop box. I did just that. Monday morning when I looked at my rental receipt, I saw that they charged me for Wednesday May 5th to Sunday May 8th, plus additional charges for late return. I basically ended up paying more than double for the rental. I was told that I needed to call customer service to resolve the issue. I spent months having calls with them trying to resolve this, and has ultimately told that they had no resolution for me. This was essentially stone cold robbery, and I was scammed. Do not rent here, as this could happen to you too.

Absolutely horrible my girlfriend reserved a vehicle a week before we came to Tampa bay from out of town. We show up to hertz to pick up the vehicle after a 5 hour plane ride also had to wait 3 hours for a vehicle that should of been previously reserved. Vacation is about planing ahead I’m beyond disappointed with the customer service and overall experience received with hertz starting my vacation off wrong. So the worker explains he has no cars at this location and I would need to wait a few more hours so they could drive to the airport, where we caught a Uber from to bring back a vehicle. My non bias opinion is that the whole staff needs to be fired and hertz needs to do a much better job at providing rentals on a timely efficient manner.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. 3 hours + waiting on scheduled rental. They tell you 30 mins/few more mins and then have an attitude when it goes on for hours. I would recommend shutting down this location and never using hertz because of this experience. We are regular hertz customers until this experience.

AWFUL, Avoid this location at all costs, unless you have plenty of patience and time to waste. When placing the reservation, it does not tell you that this is a mini office located inside of the Ramada Inn (which does not have proper signage outside to tell you where to go). Upon arrival at 1:30 in the afternoon on Friday 3.12.2021, with only 2 people working, we waited in line for more than an hour to even get any acknowledgement! At that time we were told that they were almost out of cars - with an additional 4 parties in line behind us that were extremely upset with that information. The upgraded car that we had a reservation for was not there. Our choice was a Carolla or a large truck. They said we could have a free tank of gas because of the inconvenience, but when we got in the car it had less than 1/8 of a tank of gas. There was nothing but excessively long lines and mass confusion at this location. The people in line behind us said that they were told they had a shuttle to and from the airport, but when they arrived at TPA and called them for pick up, they were told that they would have to take a Uber over to them from the airport.

Do you have shuttle to and fro Airport
There is a shuttle for the hotel but not the car rental. The person in line behind us said that they called for the shuttle that they were told they had and the employee told them that they would have to Uber over from the airport.
Hertz will not accept debit cards or prepaid cash cards as a form of payment or guarantee at the time of reservation, or time of pickup. You must present a valid and accepted charge card mentioned above, at the beginning of the rental.
