Beautiful lighthouse, but also a museum ! There is a modest fee per person and the walk up is ~7 flight of stairs. On the way up is an assortment of displays with boats, golf courses and history of the island. This makes the trip up (and back down) a special experience. At the top before you go out is a small gift shop. Once outside, on the deck, the view is fantastic !

Such a beautiful part of the island! Great shops and beautiful entertainment! The lighthouse is iconic! Great place to get little souvenirs! Ice cream is off the hook. New quarterdeck restaurant and shops are amazing and food is so tasty. Sunsets by the lighthouse are the best!

Very nice place you might have to pay a little bit for parking if it's a busy day I went on the 4th of July, there was valet for $10 it was pretty close or you had to park a mile or two away in a field and ride a trolley / Greyhound bus. But when you get there it is a very nice Seaside town Harbor Town. Saw the fireworks in the inlet right in the ocean a very good show and they also did a dolphin tour before the fireworks they also have shark fishing and the black Sparrow that you can ride with your children there are other charter boats there.

This is a very cool lighthouse with a pretty good view, as you can even see all the way into Georgia from the top! You also get a very nice view of a little town, and the lighthouse is even, when you account for the water, right across from the final hole of the golf course! The staircase up to the top is also in of itself a little museum, as you'll learn a lot of history there, complete with a gift shop at the top and bottom!

Cyndi I'm surprised they do not allow bikes.
Ok ... thanks for the answers. I went only to view the Lighthouse and to eat dinner there. I was told by a very rude lady at the guard house that you must pay $8 or have a pass. She said there were signs along the road stating it ..... I guess they need better signs. I got to visit the Lighthouse and walked around a few minutes and even had an ok meal there but feel it is a bit of a racket to be honest. You promote a lighthouse and harbor as a great place to come see but send a message that, "oh, we really would rather you not visit unless you pay us extra $".
Yes you pay 8.00 at the gate and 4.50 to climb lighthouse it's an easy climb not as high as some of the other ones good for more elderly people view is okay if you're really looking at a lighthouse that you want to see Huntington Beach they charge you to climb but it's way better is a steep climb but the view is phenomenal
Parking is very limited at the lighthouse. you could park at one of the public beach lots.you also have to pay to enter the side of the island where the lighthouse is
To my knowledge there is no way of entering Sea Pines without paying unless you are staying at one of the locations. You could always attempt venturing the coastline but I would not recommend it.
Very reasonable. Only $4.95 a person. If you are a history buff and like to read about it, you need to plan on at least an hour.
Not here. It's a harbor. Not for swimming or fishing. Other areas I'm sure are fine.
Beyond spending time at Harbour Town and the lighthouse, make sure to stay for the Greg Russell concert. It starts about 8:30 every night except Saturday. This is one of our family favorites and our young adult children still want to go back and see him... 23 years later.
