Not correct. From 42nd street Port Authority station the trip to LGA is approx. 1 hour depending on how quick you are to make the transfers from train to bus. I can do it in 40 min but give yourself 1 hour or more depending on how fast you travel with luggage. At Port Authority, take the E train Queens bound service to 74th and Roosevelt stop (20-25 min). Then go upstairs and exit train station outdoors to the rear of the station where there is an Express bus to the airport Q70 bus (free transfer with metro card. Use card to obtain transfer paper ticket from the machine upstairs at the bus stop). Press button and enter your metro card and pull out paper ticket. The bus comes every 10 to 15min and takes 15 to 20 min depending on your required terminal.Good luck.

Things aren't like they were years ago. You have to check everything (times, terminals and buses) in Springfield (My starting point) the bus didn't say New York it posted somewhere in VT. If My wife and I hadn't been talking about New York We would have missed Our bus and the bus left a few minutes early almost ten.

The truth that I found great. A couple of weeks ago I took the one that goes to washinton from port at 3 am and returned that same day at 8 pm, leaving from washington and arriving at midnight in NY. Everything on schedule I recommend it.

Once you get off the greyhound bus, take the stairs to the very next floor, then follow the signs for the subway trains. You can get the 2 train, from there you will be able to connect to the 6 train depending on where you're headed-uptown or downtown.
