Why do you have to go through the family housing hub to get any help?! I've called every single day since last Friday looking for shelter for my son and I! was told they would call me and haven't! It's be 8 days now! And I still havent been put on the waiting list! Were sleeping in a car!
Sam Costa
All the children are terrible the kids were throwing rocks at cats and the staff are cold and unwilling to help
Jose Esparza
I went here to help someone to optain there id and instead I was profiled, I was said to be unsafe and even trying to convince the person I brought to them to call the cops on me and say I'm not safe.. nothing more then a unless government homeless camp to Leach off the rich and profile the poor. Don't recommend, get off drug get your head together and push forward I promise you don't need a dump like this place.
Courtney Owens
I just have a question I have been trying to get ahold of someone that works in this program. How do you get ahold of someone and actually talk to someone I have left messages. I have called the number and no answer
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
No homeless families with children. There are shelters for single people
Not everyone gets help like that you have to be approved for it. And it depends on your effort. They give you a voucher YOU do ALL the leg work.
Phone number please !!! For umom. Thank you
Check out Father Dave from the Andre house and homeless Ministry. They actually pay for birth certificates, also check the website 211. Gov this is a conglomerate of agencies that provide services so you can probably find something. Especially if you're elderly, disabled, or low income poverty. you can see if there's any help on there as well
You would have to apply at the housing hub. There is a waiting Period from a few weeks to 2 months. But honestly, you have to register first. And it to our family 3 wks when they called. We now have received housing. And move into our new apt. Monday.
Yes they do
Yes they do me my wife and kids was there for 3 months and they help us get an apartment
Not really. Well, I mean if you can support yourself, then it might be ok. Its a "working program" that emphasizes rapid rehousing for homeless single women. You HAVE to have 'gainful employment' within 45 days to stay in good standing with management...but they are pretty lax if you have medical issues. Its not a bad place...
Yes actually not home but at hospital
It's for families not just the moms.
Umom accepts donations each day!
You DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE CHILDREN! Single women stay at the "sister property" directly across the street. It is called Halle Womens Center.
I think it's only families. Single moms and single dads or whole families.
That was great advice by Suzanne! I also have several suggestions. The main clearing house for DV & regular shelters can be found by dialing 211 (community service) or go 2 the website 211.org. I would also check out the National D/V hotline, which shows bed availability + various programs 2 assist u in your struggle. Final note, I really DO understand your position and wish you blessings & White light.
Yes the housing hub red door on van Buren next door to UMom
You need to go to the housing hub first to do the screening.
Yes they will I doesn't matter your background they go off ur situation love it great place they helped me a year ago n I'm still standing
There is no number but have to go down there to the red dollar n sign up there a waiting list the soon the better
Yes
Umom can hello but There is a waiting period. My son and I waited 5 weeks before being accepted. There is sojourer center, a new leaf, hope womans Center you might want to try...all else fails call 211 or look up the website. There are a lot of resources there. Good luck.
Im only in my 2 trimester and I have a 5 months old that we're trying to get back but we need a place and my baby daddy need a job
Actually they take all donations it may not go to someone in umom may go to their store bring it anyways everything helps no matter
Actually the kids have acssess to wifi if they are in the afterschool program. No need for wifi when they have a computer lab.
Family Housing Hub 3307 East Van Buren #108 they are open today until 4pm. Closed Friday. Monday open till 8pm. No immediate shelter available. It's about 1-2 month wait. But you can go try to get on the wait list
3307 E VanBuren St. Red door.
Not low cost housing. There are different departments in the City of Phoenix to help singles vs families with children.
You have to.apply at the housing hub first but if they have opening and you are pregnant you usually get moved to.the top of the list with other pregnant women i.went thru the process. Its right next door open monday thru thursdays. It opens at like 9.i think.. Im there now at umom
No it's a family shelter. Men, women, grand parents, male or female children.
They always take donations but always better to drop off during business hours 8am to 5pm at 3333 e Van Buren
You cant just walk right in. A wastefull trip. Sorry
No
No they will call cps for anything when your living there
Yes
I'm not sure you should give them call and find out for sure
Yes they have a single women shelter, you'll wanna call the family housing hub and get put on the waiting list for it.
Yes there is a chance. There are people moving out of here every day... HOWEVER, I don't recommend this place at all.
Yes if you need to get in you should call the 211 and get added A.S.A.P. I hear they are moving pretty fast on the list.
They do take donations.
It has the number on google
It takes about 4 days to get a call into a shelter from there they help you get a home .
Do you have children
Yes
Most of the donated stuff is given to different charity. It's really sad we were there for Christmas and we watched car after car after truck after car after truck drop off Christmas presents to be donated to you Mom for the people that live there when Christmas came around all we got were Christmas stocking child size blanket in gift cards and that was because a company came to you Mom and said hey we want to buy gift cards and a stocking for every single family so since that happened all the donated toys and money and everything else that was donated during the holiday season this past year was given to a different charity to be given away to people that were not even at you Mom it's really sad they got quite a hustle going on there you're talking to someone that had first-hand experience watch to go down. Also it's like pulling teeth to get them to take you to the clothing closet for your family to actually get clothes that they took in there n what they have in there bunch Bs
Yes , if they have children under the age of 18. There is a Halle Halle center for woman across the street for adults only but you have to go directly through that center
No this a shelter for couples and families.. i am unsure if its for singles I believe they are. You don't pay for anything they shelter you for 120 days while you are there they allow you to get back on your feet and give you basic needs
She has to go down to HUD housing and sign up. Then the wait begins
Yes
They give u about 4 months rent free to get a job n save $ to get a place to stay
Yes they do
It's not a trashy place.. it's a safe place if you need it for women and children..and another side for single wemon
Remember right there in umom is the red door where you have to go apply
Try 3424 E. Van Buren St. It's a women shelter. But they want you to look for work and save money. And they will let you stay here for 4 months. And help with rent for the 1st month rent
It will be the BEST thing you can do. You'll receive the BEST help at UMOM. I urge you to go down and apply at your earliest convenience love. ❤😘
Go to the housing hub...right next door to Umom go to red door and apply...they will do what they can for you
To sign up for shelter...go to the red door at 3307 east van buren to get placed on wait list for family shelters. There are several in Phoenix. They vet you to be on the lists at the ones you qualify for and call when there is a room for you guys also remember to call the number they give you each week you are waiting to let them know you still need a place
They never answer the phones but if you come down to the facility they will help they helped my family and we now live in the umom new day facility
No
You must be currently staying at UMOM or the Halle Women's Center to use their Employment Center. UMOM does not provide job placement. You must look for work on your own. They give you access to their computers to search, help with resumes (their volunteer Steve is fantastic), and they have weekly job fairs. The employment center can provide bus passes, QT gift cards for gas, and Walmart giftcards to purchase job specific clothing items. Both UMOM and Halle have a clothing closet for interview attire.
As many as you have in your family. Your split up each unit is a family
They offer housing assistance. They have resources that help you obtain state assistance like food stamps and Medicare. They have onsite medical access in form of a mini hospital onsite with pediatricians from childrens hospital...no obgyn's though.
Fam housing hub. Vanburen 33rd street.
It's for homeless families, single moms and dads. Also domestic violence.
Apply to family housing hub. They might not let you apply if they think you have a place to stay. Not sure how DV would affect your situation. Make sure to mention it at housing hub.
What food line is it happening?
Google Family Housing Hub. Next to umom on van buren.
Not that i know of... I know at sojourner you can.. Just call the central intake line they will helo you
Yes, as long as it's a family unit. Have to go to the family housing hub first.
Not sure what the question is? If your brother is homeless & has a family, yes! If hes by himself & homeless... no. Unless hes a single father & is the primary custodial parent with more than 50% of the parenting time. If hes just a single guy he should try a place called "brand new life" in mesa. If hes part of your family & you're there, or going there... I dont know.
Donation metal containers to the right as you enter the parking lot. Or go to the main entrance. The RA's will assist you.
Go to the family housing hub it's on the same property as u-mom. when you pull his Yuma drive through the Brown Wall to your right and look for the red door. They can answer all your questions and give you the correct answer.
They do help veterans with kids. And rapid rehousing is not fast but you have to see if you qualify for the rapid rehousing and that is up to them if you qualify. You only qualify if you answer yes to every question. But to get into umom it takes a bit to get into it when I was trying to het in there it took 4 months to get in but I got into another shelter first. You get put on a list and whichever shelter has a spot you will go to.
You cant. They wont tell you anything about any residents especially if they are victim to DV.
Yes but make sure you read your contract with whom ever you go thru some of them are supposed to pay the power as well. So be vigilant and read it all
You have to go to the family housing hub next door. Get on the waitlist. They will help as soon as they can. Calling will not help you.
Do you call the number every week to keep your place in line it took my family two months just be patient.
Go to the family housing hub.
You only can check in IF THEY DECIDE TO PUT YOU on the waiting list. They'll give you all the info you need. If they do not choose to help you get shelter, they will let you know also. There is no guarantee
You can make donations at umom but next door RED DOOR walk in there and ask or go to the window and someone well guide you threw the donations process. Hope this helps. Have a blessed holiday 🎅
The housing hub @ 3333 east van buren.. Also either look online at the 211 website or call 211 and talk to an operator
Come to 3333 E Vanburen go to the Red Door and apply thay will help you
If you call 211 and they direct you to the family housing hub, the housing hub won't answer your call or return your message. You need to go there in person. Take important docs.
If you go to the family housing hub, they will be able to give you some resources for singles. I know there are multiple housing projects for singles.
She, and every adult in her household should go to the family housing hub next door. Open at 8 am on Mondays. May be closed for Columbus Day. Otherwise Tuesday at 8 am. Take important docs, ID, BC, etc for everyone. She must be working or willing to look for full time employment and be sober. After she is on the waitlist for 1 to 6 (or more) weeks, she will get a call from a shelter with an open room. She has to go to that shelter or be removed from the waitlist. Being pregnant, she may be able to get into Maggie's Place. Please read the other questions, answers and reviews first if you have more questions.
There is the housing hub at 3333 east van buren for emergency assistance, but it sounds more like you need to either call 211 or go to 211arizona.org for resources.
When you go into the shelter you will have a social worker you can ask her or him if they can help with the deposit NOTE: you must stay in the shelter for a few days to qualify for help with deposit
Sweetie, I think that's actually a legal as they are a minor and not able to sign and endorse illegal leasing contract or other. There are children shelters and programs one of them is tumbleweeds. Good luck
UMOM Is a Family shelter if you don't have kids they won't send you there
She would have to go to the housing hub right next foor to Umom. Its in the old strip motel right next door. Has a red door. Fridays sat, Sundays closed. Have to apply in person.
Nope. Whoever it is has to apply to the waitlist at the Family Housing Hub again and then has to go to whatever shelter calls first.
Put in a grievance to see somebody else
Your mom would need to go to the family housing hub on Monday morning. They are open at 8 am. After she interviews and is on the waitlist, a shelter will call her when they have room for you. If you are living on the streets, as terrible as it is, they will probably call faster. I know it's not great, but the homeless help resources available in Phoenix are few and far between and most of them also seem to be understaffed and inundated by people who need help.
Go to the family housing hub tomorrow at 8am. Go from there.
I have never heard of that when i lived there but you can try call & ask them. Traditionally UMOM is for families with children & they won't send single adults there
No. Always a wait list. They will not help you if you staying "at your friend house & they gave you a week to leave" i had 2 month old baby sleeping in a car with this man who took us in. Very wonderful place tho worth the wait they will help you so much
The Phoenix Housing Hub opens at 8 am. Bring the documents you have and they will put you on the waitlist. It may take up to 6 weeks, but they will let you know if there are any other resources available.
About 1 month & half. As long as you are not running from him or being abused by him you're good. They ain't gonna check nobody's background. It's a homeless shelter. Not housing
Go to the family housing hub tomorrow at 8 am. They can help you get the other docs you need. You will go on a waitlist. I believe it is priority based. We were on the streets and got a call from two shelters within a week or so. They can help you with other things as well. If you are fleeing domestic violence, you should be higher priority and there may be another number you can call for help. You must be homeless for them to process your application.
What ever personal papers you have anc your children ids social cards birth certificates if you dont have its not a worry they can help you get it. Checking in is done by phone once a week if you are on the waitlist approved thru the housing hub right next door. It is not open fridays.
Family Housing Hub
Housing hub they do not take you directly in off the street sadly to say. You can try cass but thats first come first serve and theres also the crisis nursery for children to consider. Goigle it.
No and you can actually bring direct blood ie mom sister brother as well if they are with you.
Honestly some of the staff have been rude but others have not. All i know is my experiences from going thru the process and living there. I just literally left 3 weeks ago.
Go down to the housing hub office and do a on the spot interview. M.T.W.TH. only
3307 East Van Buren St #108 they open Monday from 8 to 8, Tuesday thru Friday 8 to 4. Bring all your IDs with you it's like a month wait list but if you really need help then you will wait
NO IT'S MONDAY 8AM TO 8PM. TUESDAY THRU FRIDAY 8AM TO 4PM. I LIVE AT UMOM. 3307 EAST VAN BUREN ST #108 6025958700
