This is where some of the exterior shots of The Goonies movie were filmed. I had read some of the reviews in tour books and they can't capture the beauty of the coast. This is one of the most beautiful views along the coast. It’s a small park, so it won't take a lot of time to visit. Since you are looking down at Cannon Beach, you get another perspective.

This is a great spot for beginners or even elderly/handicap people. You get a great view even just driving up. There are bathrooms right near the parking and down the trail as well. There are some longer trails but you can still get some great views from the main short walking trails. It's a short drive from Seaside and parking is 5 bucks. Dog and kid friendly as well. Come check this place out.

We did a loop hike from Indian Head to Bird Point, and then back to Indian Head. I'm 65, (2022) and out of shape. It was steep going up the trail and muddy and steep going back on the service road and not muddy. My legs are still sore, but it was worth it despite the difficulty for me. I was glad I had my hiking sticks as it helped me balance on the muddy sections we encountered. It was a slightly overcast day which help me not get overheated. Functioning pit toilets at both beginning and midpoint were greatly appreciated. My 5 year old granddaughter was able to make the journey as well. I neglected to bring a small backpack to carry water. Fortunately I could share with my spouse, but If I was going to do it again I would remember to pack a backpack.

Great park with ample parking and views of cannon beach. Wild Elk were roaming when we arrived, hiking trails were well maintained and we were happy to see clean bathrooms! Definitely recommend stopping in while in Cannon beach.

My son uses a wheelchair. Cannon beach chamber of commerce has a beach wheelchair
The main entrance is closed until road repairs and landslides are addressed.
I dont think there are showers but camping I think so. Check the state park website for that information.
No, not right now to either question. The park is currently closed after being impacted by winter storms. Take a look at the Oregon state parks website for status. I talked to the park personnel recently, and they will focus on repairs after winter storm season ends.
Ecola State Park is still closed as of this Friday evening, January 21.
As of yesterday they were still closed. However they sometimes will open parts of it. Typically just the top part of the park. That is incredibly beautiful too.
I think noaa.gov would be a good source.
Not really... there's a small parking lot and the only trails are steps down to the beach....
The Oregon State Park website should tell you all. Beautiful Place!!
There's no vehicle access to the beaches.
If you go to Indian beach there is a hikers camp 1.5 miles up the trail that u can hike to and camp at. IT IS AWSOME!!! There are 3 cabins that each sleep 4 people. They are simple and rudimentary with a built in bunk bed on either side and a place to hang ur stuff...no more. There is a central fire pit and a covered picnic table area. I plan on going back and camping here with my family. The hike is easy up a slight incline but if my 5 year old can do it so can u. It's first come first serve.
Yes
You have to bring your own equipment but you can bbq there.
No
Yes, you will find more star fish and such at low tide.
When we visited the park, there were a couple of men flying their drones.
It may be easier to go through Cannon Beach to Haystack for tide pools. Parking and easier access . Check Haystack on line for docent walks/talks as well, if you like.
