We stayed in a cabin here at the park for 4 nights. The cabin was very cute and was right on one of the small lakes, and it had a screened in porch overlooking it, with rocking chairs. So I loved that. However, the park left so much to be desired. There were a few short hiking trails, 3 small lakes that were more like ponds, a camping area, picnic areas, and a couple playgrounds. There was nowhere to swim unless you rented out Camp Stephens. There was aquacycles, but they were on the tiny pond by the visitor center, and it was just too small to be worth it. The museum, house you can tour, and fire tower, were only open on weekends. So we didn't get to go inside. Those were really the main attractions and we were really excited for them and then bummed to not get to do them. There is nothing close by as far as shopping, grocery stores or restaurants. But then there is a Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar all right there together. This is a good park if you're just looking for relaxing at a cabin or camping, but not if you're wanting more attractions. Also, the playground was just being constructed so was only partly there. It was super super muddy, but no one was there working on it the whole time we were there.

Park is very nice, clean and attractive. Has units for groups alone with dock's. Park has some very nice little cottage homes sitting on the lake front. Horse stables if you are there to enjoy horseback riding alone with campsites for your travel trailer or such. It also has several travel trailer and RV site that have electric and water and on site dump station. Nice fishing lake on back of park, picnic areas to spend the day with family and friends. Paddle boats in front lake area. Overall very nice park away from the big city life very peaceful and quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay. Friendly people, nice sites, clean bathrooms and plenty of hiking trails. We will definitely return!

Just spent several nights at the park this week for our anniversary trip. My family and I have been to this park several times over the years and have always had such a wonderful time. It's such a beautiful, relaxing and quiet place to stay. We have only stayed at the cottages, but have always had a great experience. All those that work there that we have talked to, are all so friendly. We always hate when we have to leave, but it gives us something to look forward to the next time we visit :)

If you reserve a cabin and inform the office of a late arrival, they will leave the keys in a lock box and give you the combination so that you may access the unit after hours.
Depends if you're doing day rides are you going for the campsites and stalls whst your cost will be.
Depends on the day and event. Get a season pass. You can also go to the library and get a pass. A free pass you have to ask how.
We have never had a problem bringing wood to the site. But the campsite does not let you have fires year round. Check with the rangers before building your bonfire.
According to some brief googling, 1872? (Source: an Amazon listing).
They do have primitive camping. Unsure of the price. We fish here all the time.
Georgia State Park website has pricing information on all the parks.
