Get a premium site if you can. Totally worth it. There are bathrooms and showers available and easy to get to. There are washers and dryers on site. No issues with power hookups. These are dump sites so no sewer hookups. Sites are well spaced. There are boat docks. There is a putting course that is a little run down but still fun. You can rent clubs or bring your own.

This is such a beautiful park and now one of our favorites! I thought the cabins were going to be a bit older looking, but they were so cute with a nice view of the lake, a screened in porch overlooking the lake with rocking chairs. We even had 4 geese walk up to us at the cabin. There's a swimming beach, a putt-putt course, 2 playgrounds, a couple of hiking trails, an archery area, and several boat docks, and lots of areas to camp. The park is very nice and very well maintained. We loved that there wasn't a long drive to get to places inside the park. Often we have noticed it's a long drive to the cabins or camping area from the main activity area. I don't like that, but this park was only a very small drive. Highly recommend this beautiful park!

Looked everywhere for reviews on the cottages. Really could not find any. We needed a place that would accommodate us and our dogs. This was our very first actual vacation together including our dogs. I am actually not disappointed. The cottages are well equipped and definitely enough room. They are a little old and dated. Not the cleanest overall, but you are in the middle of nowhere in the woods!!! I would take them over a tent any day! Overall we are very satisfied and would definitely do it all over again! Well worth the 4 hour drive with 2 big dogs and one little one with a big attitude!

Absolutely!! Don't expect a lot of tourist type attractions though, or a wide variety of restaurants. Last I recall the closest gas station is about a 10-15 minute drive and they close at 8. Very peaceful place with lots of wildlife!!
There's two cabins you can have dogs in. You can have a dog under your own power.
90 to 126
10lb bags for sale until 5pm when office closes.
No
Yes, and canoe rentals as well.
I was there in August 2018. There haven't been updated but aren't bad.
I am not sure. You can the office and they will know
Not us why ?
I'm not sure I'm new to this camping thing
They are not full hookup there is no sewage at your site but this place is absolutely gorgeous!
I know that I watched Texas A&M beat Alabama there...I believe it has cable hook up there. There's also YouTube live.
Marina across the river in SC has pontoon boat rentals. Have not seen houseboats in the area.
It's not much of a walk. You should have any problems with them.
Check out Indian Springs State Park. They have a wedding package with a beautiful venue, a building for reception, and cabin rental.
I would call the park to make sure, but don't see why not.
Bass - we only fish for bass. Sometimes we catch'em and sometimes we don't, but it is a beautiful lake.
For camper sites you have to reserve them for atleast 2 nights. And you can make reservations the day before if you want, but the sooner the better if you'd like to get a good spot.
Yes
Call them to find current cost. I have not stayed there.
There is a "Beach area" that is good for swimming. My 2 year old swam good. We just always kept a life jacket on her. There are 2 different playgrounds.
Rental paperwork starts and finishes at the main visitor center/ trading post near the entrance. Not sure of the cost.
Yes. Beach is open. Call ranger station to confirm.
The week of May 1st, 2019! So excited!
It really all depends it could be in the 20's at night and 40's to mid 60's in the day. I live 30 min from there and the weather never knows what it wants to do lol.
Apply on the Georgia State Park volunteer website. You have to pay a $10 per person background check fee, good for 3 years. Then you can look at the SP openings and apply.
We camps out for $0 but the spots for campers was like 100$ for the3 day weekend I think
