You have to pay to park, but parking becomes free after 8 pm. There is also a $4 minimum paying with a credit card so if it is close to 8pm i would use change.

If memory serves me correct, ages 16 and under are free, and the pier also if Tybee hasn't changed their rules, you only have to pay for parking...just make sure YOU don't touch his pole so that you won't get charged by FISH and WILDLIFE officials..hope this helps, be blessed .

Charges for parking, if your driving anything bigger than a regular car, (we drove our RV) you can use the metered parking on the roads. We took up 2 spots and paid for a few hours. You will need lots of quarters, Lol! We were not prepared for that as most meters will take a card now days. Theirs do not. Also, other change did not register in the meters, just quarters and the convience stores "do not give change". Great beach though!

You can also rent them at the beach, but I dont know how much they are. I think it would be better to buy one at a store, just be sure you have the little holder that you stick in the sand to put you umbrella in.
