If we did a hard evaluation of the dollars that the state of Arkansas spends for anything I would offer that state parks and come out at the zenith top.. this is yet another beautiful state parks extremely well maintained.. it is rather remote because it is a starting point for the entire western expansion of the United states.. the starting point of the Louisiana purchase is literally located inside this small.. take time to learn the history of this area and you will find it absolutely fascinating how Lewis and Clark decided to take a 24-ft chain measure out the rest of the western United States

Serene, beautiful state park not far from the highway. Easily walkable boardwalk in great condition. Bring bug spray; it is a swamp, after all.

This park is so fun and perfect for a quick stop on your roadtrip. It's a quick walk through the swamp but the ethereal beauty of this park is worth it. They allow dogs and have restrooms.

We took a slight detour on a long road trip to check this park out, and it was a lovely break in our journey. Definitely off the beaten path, but so glad we made the stop. Learned a little, stretched our legs on the walking trail, and took in the beauty of the swamp.
