Very organized but it is still the DMV. Had an appointment but still waited about an hour.
lchosen1
In and out quickly, as compared to previous years. A little concerning that I didn't have to show ID when turning in plates.
Jump Ring
ROAD TEST: Whomever the angry, irritated, older, in-the-wrong job proctor is for the road test at this particular site is: do something that makes you happy because you are making potential new drivers miserable. A bitter attitude upon us pulling up to the site continued every step of the way to a failed test- all because you were having a bad day. Or a bad life after reading umpteenth reviews of your behavior plastered all over the Internet. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DL ROAD TEST EXAM AT THIS LOCATION.

Nice !
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Did you get yours? I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks
Is the office open to the public
He can do that online. The dmv will not do any license transactions for another person.
Does anybody know when Hauppauge DMV is really gonna open
Things change day to day but call first you can still get in but it my take longer if you don't call.
You have to make an appointment, have everything you need. Proof of insurance, bill of sale ect. Goes very smooth if you look up DMV website for all documents needed
I just registered a van was $250
Yes Eliza Peña, an appointment must be made
It is my brother who wants to do the permit
Probably the appointments are nice because it significantly reduces your wait time. Just research online all the documents needed to make the license changes.
Yes but you should not pay there. The problem is transportation of the unit to the state you wish to register it in. Or tell them there that it will go out of state when it will be registered.
I just did it. They will not give you an appointment to renew it at the DMV as of 9/2020. It's online only. I did manage to get an appointment to upgrade it to the Federal version though in person.
Yes but first call and make an appointment. If you have no problems with it just a form then you will take a picture and your new York licence will come in the mail.
Yes they are just call and make an appointment they have to limit the number or people in at any one time.
You must make an appointment online to the dmv website... they are ONLY TAKEN APPOINTMENT FOR ALL SERVICES NO MATTER WHAT IT IS
I had to do it a long time ago, you need a death certificate, and afadavit from her to transfer. You might want to look what's cheaper for taxes gifting it or a bill of sale for cheap.
I have no answer but I too am waiting.
If you want to register a car all you need is the money for the fee and the forms. Walk in go to the information desk Tell them what you want they will give you the form fill it out take a number wait for your number to show up pay the fee you will get plates and sticker after you pay you get what you need at the pay window. Ken call them there may be a problem with your paper work call them.
Yes you should call first and make an appointment.
You can go online to DMV.NY.GOV to make a reservation . Gor what you need
Title, copy of driver's license, proof of insurance, registration forms, and purchase form
Yes, they are open today 04/17/2020 and they're closing at 4:00 pm.
https://www.dmv.org/appointments.php
You can apply for an intrastate in-transit permit, which will allow you to transport a vehicle from a location within New York to another location within New York. They are valid 30 days. (MV-82ITP)
The fee to renew your license depends upon your driver license class. At this time, Class D, DJ, and non-CDL Class C licenses can be renewed for between $64.50 and $80.50. Class M and MJ license renewals cost $72.50 to $88.50. And Class E license renewals cost $112.50 to $128.50. This charges apply under the 2 year of expiration after of those 2 years lapse you have to apply for you driver license from the beginning.
Monday is open from (Columbus Day) 8:30AM–4PM.
Yes, make sure you have all the points DMV required, good luck!
HOW CAN I TELL OF THE CHANGE OF ADDRESS I PUT IN A FEW WEEKS AGO HAS CHANGE THE ADDRESS YET ? WILL I GET A NEW LICENCE WITH THE NEW ADDRESS
Cancel Registration - Introduction. This no fee transaction allows you to cancel your registration and print out your Registration Cancellation Receipt you can do it online, Once your plates are cancelled, you must then recycle or destroy the plates.
Yes, you can renew it up to a year before it expires and up to two years after it expires. If it's been more than two years since you had a valid license, you'll need to apply for a New York State license, which includes a written test, a vision test, a road test, and a required course. Members of the military that are on active duty and stationed outside of New York can complete a form and have their license extended until they return home
Marie shaper you can check on dvm website: https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/registration-transactions or attend to a dmv location.
9 am-430pm m-f
Yes you can register it through dmv
It would cost $25 dollars, plus $3.75 if you are planning on obtaining a new registration with the new plates. If you wish to keep the same license number add another $20.
Hey you might want to study the whole book and give it a try the endorsements are free at the time of the exam but after you will need to pay 10.00 per endorsement
I changed the address by going to the dmv and filling out a form, but it was on the system that my address was change, i didn't receive a new id card or anything like that and it was free to do this. On the other hand, to get an id card with your new address you have to pay a fee.
I went to renew my license and I needed a reservation first. That was on September 1st. I'm not sure if it was required but it just speeds up the process. I was only there for like an hour and I went in for 3:30pm.
No not yet still you have to make an appointment......to do that
Yes.
Yes
You have to make one online now. Its by appt only for anything you cant do yourself online. DMV.org I think. Hope thats helpful. 👍
Go to the dmv website all info should be there or make an appointment to visit your local dmv
Yes
Unfortunately the real fastest way is to go by and the front desk ( customer service ) will do it quickly
I went to DMV Because My Friend has an Appointment For To make a Registration to her car but I guess Yes with the Appointment.💥 People was very Polite And took just Maybe 15 minutes.😊🌹 Was Great!💥
No. You need to have an appointment.
You can bring them to the office to serender. They give you a envelope to put them in and mail your receipt I believe
No, just show them the bill of sales from the dealer which will show the sales tax paid.
They may ask you to change your SS card first before they can issue you a license with your married name. Otherwise it will be issued with your maiden name.
Yes
You have to go to the website, input your zip code or choose the Hauppauge branch for an appointment.
It is still appointments only
No you can walk in to return your license plates
Each title is according to the car, I also got a new registration. Check the website for more info.
No. You have to make an appointment. Dmv website
I see people go in together all the time no medical condition I went with my daughter
I don't think so but soon
Yes you can do it. But you need to make a reservation online for everything. Or you go and you can send it by mail.
You can get the temporary the same day as your appointment
You have to go online make an appointment to go down there and fill out the change of address form
2 to 3 days if all documents are proper !!!
You have to go to the NY DMV website and make a reservation you can not walk in with it. You can choose a time and day that's open and make your reservation.
Nope, it will be mailed to you
You need legal paperwork showing you were given the car such as a will or letter of testamentary OR the next of kin/surviving spouse can sign the title over to you. You always need a dtf802 form and a mv82 form. You can download the dmv forms from the dmv.ny.gov website.
Get papers and DMV envelope and fill out paper work and put in the DMV drop box
Depends if you have then mailed to you or you are picking them up , pick up is way quicker , mailed can take 2weeks or more
I just did the same thing recently and yes you'll need a reservation but it is a fairly quick and efficient process.
You can do it online, or take all the documents, filled out, and they send it to you by mail, thanks
General knowledge exam 10.00
You can do it on line. Put in safety courses.
you can buy a temporary tag for month $
Yes !
Call the local DMV and ask
Go right to the door and tell the agent you're returning. Don't stand on line. They'll have you put them in an envelope and drop them off
Received mine 3 weeks after my birthday/expiration. You will need to renew online unless you need to get the "Real ID or Enhanced" license which enables you to board a plane. If you need the later, you will need to make an appointment to go to an office.
Remember to make a reservation on the website. Without it you will be turned away. I had to renew my license on Friday last and as I was showing my reservation email, a woman who was just ahead of me had to go back to the website and make a new appointment because she had made her appointment for the wrong transaction! So be precise about what you need to at the DMV...
Make an appointment.
You must have an appointment to go in.....no walk ins. There are signs everywhere......by appointment only. Most transactions can be completed online.
Remember to book an appointment as you will not be admitted to the office without one and only for the transaction you have an appointment for and nothing else...
When you make your reservation with the DMV, it will ask you what you want to do. Choose return plates and it will give you that info. Unfortunately, you need to make an appointment, even though you are only turning in plates...🙄
Due to Covid 19, you're most likely need to make an appointment. But the first thing you should do is prepare for your written test, then Just go in and apply; make sure you bring these with you: Proof of age, Identity and residence. Hope that helps
The walk in service is now available.
Yes you can, and there are actually people working inside. Just try to be early; there is always a big line
You have to call because they supposedly closed again
No, just going to the main entrance and check out, but you can't wait inside to the building, they will text you when they have a table ready
You should be able to do it online.
Call them, only way to find out
If you want a Federal REAL ID compliant license, you will need to visit a DMV office. Otherwise you can renew online.
Go and ask for form and they will give it to u fill it out and drop it off at the bin and wait 2 days for a reply
You can check online at https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/all-online-transactions
You could request appointment With DMV and pay there
Yes you do bring your birth certificate ss card something that shows your address
Look it up have to know what town your in?
Some locations are open on Saturdays. You should definitely call and verify.
Yes a reservation is a requirement.
You have to look on their website. Not really a number to call. Only if you want to call up in Albany
I has to be done online and make an appointment
What's the phone number
Most likely not you would have to go to DMV.GOV TO find out
Get you paperwork and go in person to dmv they will give a chance to receive you title by mail or you can come back and pick it up. Also if you need a supervisor they will give a chance to talk..
If you go to a pharmacy , check with you local CVS or Walgreens' they send it electronically.
You need an mv - 82, DTF - 802, original title, insurance card, and a copy of driver's lic or ny pic id and your bill of sale. Bring it to a DMV closest to you. No appointment, they will provide you with an envelope and a cover sheet. You will put everything in the envelope and into a drop box. Good luck!
I think you do , they do have walkins, try DMV.NY.GOV . Also I believe you can renew online if you keep the same photo.
Yes, you must enter the DMV website and make an appointment.
Yes just check to see what paper is required
I do not think so , I would call to confirm though
You need your ss#... And they will ask a lot of security questions but you don't need your ID number
They are not accepting any walk-ins or renewal of license right now or enhance applications. My wife works for DMV.
Go to the website and check it there that's the best way right now
Only on phase 3
I do not believe they are giving tests at this point. I believe only transactions/paperwork that can be placed in an envelope and reviewed by DMV agents can be done at this point. I think next "phase" of opening...the DMV may be opening its doors again.
Upon arrival...you will be on a line to drop off all your pre filled out paperwork including form of payment forms. You will proceed to a mail drop box internally. The DMV workers pick up that mailbox every hr.
You have to go to the insurance, if it is registration in motor vehicles there are yellow envelopes and ask for the form to fill it that says registration of vehicle, but if only the insurance that has to go but to the insurance
Download all the forms needed from the DMV website.....fill them out correctly....download the "form of payment" form and bring to dmv to drop off.
I dropped off Friday...I'd like to know an estimated turn around time as well. Thanks.
I went there on Friday and they are working by drop off only. So you go there and at the door a security will ask you what you are there to do. Then he will give you a manila envelope with all the forms yo need for your transaction. You fill everything out with your form of payment and drop it of at the door again and they will procces it. you need to ask all of the details at the door over there.
No...They claim ITS for drop box services only....All renewals are supposedly extended...
The DMV is open but they are only receiving to register new plates and you have to bring all the paperwork ready or they have some for you to fill ...
Online
Motor vehicle bureau is not open, I went there last week, the people in the building said it won't be open for weeks yet.
How to transfer registration to another car on my name??
Yes
Please click this link: dmv.ny.gov/registration/how-surrender-or-turn-your-plates-mvd If the link does not work, search online using words, MVD, how to surrender your plates. Or you may use the words, MVD, information on Novel Cononavirus.
You may need to call, or take your chances to drop by and see if the MVD is open for the services you are seeking. Another option is checking the online MVD.org or MVD.gov.
all matters you can help yourself at the website https://dmv.ny.gov/office/hauppauge they don't provide phone number for this hauppauge location.
You can probably get a new one online. Check first on the DMV website before going because, presently, the lines are absolutely ridiculous at ALL of the DMV offices.
https://dmv.ny.gov/contact-us/office-hours-holidays
https://dmv.ny.gov/contact-us/office-hours-holidays
Yes. https://dmv.ny.gov/contact-us/office-hours-holidays
No. Closed. DMV not open on major holidays.
If it expired less than a year ago, you can still renew it, and keep the same plates. If it has been expired for more than a year, you will have to go through the whole process of re-registering your vehicle, and will need to go to the office with a completed MV-82 and proof of insurance. And the list goes on, if u are not the owner of the vehicle.
Yes it is
Yes, they will from 10:00am to 6:00 pm. On 10/ 31/2019
It costs $ 9.00 to $ 10.00 for an ID of 4 to 5 years, and an ID of 8 to 9 years $ 13.00 to $ 14.00 you need Social security birth certificate and 4 points
Yes, you can and you don't need appointment. But you need required documents so please check the DMV website.
The NY DMV website has all the information that you need. Also, hold on to your bill of sale.
You have up to 2 years past the expiration. After that you have to start all over with the written test and permit.
Yes Fermin it'll be open 8:30 am to 4:00pm
In New York, boats (watercraft) without a motor do not need to be registered. If you use a motor (electric or fuel-driven), regardless of the size of your boat or the motor, you must register your boat.
Check the NY DMV website for details on transferring your license. You may need to visit a NY DMV office.
Yes I can mon tues weds Fri 830am 330pm Thurs 10 530pm.
Yes, please be sure to review this information: https://dmv.ny.gov/registration/surrender-vehicle-plates-dmv
No
There is a licensing division at the dmv in the second floor. Maybe u can there
There are a bunch of variables, depending on your situation, so it's best to check the website before going. Your typical transfer of ownership (without registering) needs to prove transfer of ownership, and cover sales tax. An original nys title, or transferable registration if it's not a titled vehicle, and a DTF-802, both with signatures of seller/current owner. Again, check the website to be sure.
You can register anywhere
The easiest way to replace your drivers license is to order a duplicate on the website. It's not necessary to take a trip to the DMV for this transaction (save your sanity lol), though you should report it stolen to the police, in case someone tries to use it or it's found. Everytime you replace your license it gets a new "issued" date on it, and the DMV will only do transactions with your last issued one. So no need to report it stolen to them.
After you pay, you can download the card, the card expires 2 weeks later.
No, but you will need the title to register. "A cllos" is correct. However, a bill of sale is not required if the seller/previous owner signed and completed section 6 on the DTF-802 form. Also, if you mark down (on the DTF-802) that you paid "less than fair market value" for the vehicle, then the seller MUST fill out that section.
No. You will need a N.Y.S. permit in order to take the N.Y.S. road test. However, if you pass the NC road test, and recieve your NC license, then you can transfer your NC license for a N.Y. license. :-)
No, you don't have to, good luck
A regular license might be possible but you'll probably need to send in proof of your rue exam
Your license and registration form
Try to take pics of your car and plates whit filled up ticket and send it, hopefully you get a dismissed good luck.
Beside a road test i don't think you need an appointment you should go to Dmv, hope helps .
You can go to DMV. Org appointments they'll give you a choice of times and day
You can do it online https://dmv.ny.gov/offices you have to be the owner, have it registered in your name and have no debt to the bank, otherwise you will have to go to the nearest dmv I hope I help you
You'll probably have to go to traffic court in order to address that but dmv won't do that. That's not their job. If you've got a traffic court date then I'd say Just follow thru that way but short answer is No they won't
No. They are not open on weekends
Don't no you would have to come here to figure that out
I work there an No it's not open
Yes Troy, there are certain hours, CDL tests: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 8:30 - 1:00; Thursday 10:00 - 3:00pm
Bring the lien holder letter to DMV filled up an an application pay $20 if I'm not mistaken, Whiting in few weeks you get a new title under your name hope i could help.
If you are under 21 your parent with a ny lic or ny I'd can sign for you. Over 21 you need original b/c and soc sec and 4 more pts of ID. Example.. phone bill, bank statement, benefits card, bank card, or credit card. Look at the list
Please contact DMV Staff; they'll guide you what to do, so please in the future don't contact me.
Yes
Depends where the rip is. Do you have a pass port? If yes bring that and social. If no then order a new birth certificate.
Appointments can be made online at the DMV website
Yes
Your son likely has access to the internet and can begin the application process online at dmv.ny.gov 24/7. He may be able to submit payment online. Also, his boss may allow grant him an hour off to get to MVD before closing (suggestion). He might lessen the time of waiting by scheduling an appointment online. The end result may benefit you both.
You need to have an eye test done by a doctor in the registry. Then you can providing you don't want to upgrade your license to the enhanced or real. Best time to do it is at renewal time. Check with dmv Web for what you need and make a reservation. Plan to spend the day. Be patient. Very busy and short staffed.
Mail it to any office with a copy of the reg and a note explaining the return.
It is usually around $65, but varies based on age.
10 days
YES, you can purchase an EZpass at the DMV. It will cost you $30. $20 of it is placed on the account once you set up the device's account. That must be done online though!
Yes
The prices vary based upon your age.
Go online to the nys dmv website and it will tell you. I cant say for sure but it took awhile the last time i had to do this.
Im not sure exactly but I would think it would require the same forms of ID you would need to get a license. Birth certificate, social security card, or one other. I would think you would be able to find the info on the dmv website to be sure before going
Based upon age it is on average $8-10
You may begin an application process online. I'm considering this is one of those circumstances where you have to show your face-and your wallet, ID.
Go to the DMV website, select "make an appointment" and follow the prompts. Just make your you choose the right date!
Unfortunately you will have to take your permit test over. You don't need your parents, but you must present your birth certificate, social security card & build up to 6 points of proof.
All you need are the plates and the first 3 letters of the registrants last name!
To renew a license online you must have an eye exam completed and entered into the vision registry prior to submitting your renewal. Once you submit your renewal you should receive your new license within 2 to 3 weeks. If you prefer to visit your local DMV office, I strongly suggest you make an appointment online before your visit. This will expedite the process and ensure you won't have to wait long to get your transaction done!
You may change your address online, by mail, by phone or in person at your local NY DMV office. You cannot report your address change by email. i did it online
6pm Thursdays, 4pm mon,tue,wed,fri
I advise it. You have a valid reason and unlikely, are not the first to do it in such circumstances.
NY drivers license mail with your name and NY address on it title and proof of insurance
It is advisable that you do return the plates. You may receive a refund for the unused time portion of your former auto registration. Or you may switch the registration to your current car and possibly keep the same plates. That's basically it, the license shouldn't be collectables of fond memories of your ol' wheels.
Eventually, he would have to attest for his registration. If it will be in his name. For example, you are unlikely to sign for him or assume responsibility for having his registration. My wish you not waste a trip to the MVD having to return again. The suggestion is if he unable to visit MVD. He can begin the process online, complete the application renewal. Perhaps, you may assist in another aspect. Also, from online he could schedule an appointment with the MVD to complete his registration. At that junction, the individual may take time off from work and fulfill the registration sooner than normal wait time. The MVD website list what is requiring for you or him to bring to assure the registration. I wish you a successful tranaction.
I'll go with Ms. Errico's answer plus the possibility of using a copy of W-2 form.
MJK is national holiday in the United States. Administrational facilities would be closed.
If you wish place the MVD address in Google search. On the search page Google often update the current opening, closing hours of a facility or business.
It may be $170 under $200, that basing on my recollection. You probably need to bring your checkbook to MVD.
Yes, that is to help determine drivers' vision to operate autos, particularly elderly persons. You likely realized this would not be a full fledged optical exam.
Renew it! I believe you can do that online.
You can make a request for a replacement sticker from the DMV, ask for form VS-118. The process cost $2. To save a trip to the DMV, please look it up online or Google it. The instructions are on the form.
From what I remember, it is 8 am-8:30 am circa. You may wish to arrive eariler if possible, the lines form quickly and tend to lengthen as time is passing. That is depending on staffing and how swiftly they process orders.
Yes, I remember years ago paying a fee online using a bank card. Likely, since then the MVD might have improved the process. However, I do not remember specially how to access it. Please refer to the information on your ticket or visit the MVD NY website.
The cost for a registration transfer for an auto is $10, in addition to a vehicle plate fee of ten dollars and fifty cents. If you have a motorcycle the transfer fee is $18.
Google it there's a whole bunch of different phone numbers depending on what department of motor vehicles you're looking for
Don't know
