I think you do , they do have walkins, try DMV.NY.GOV . Also I believe you can renew online if you keep the same photo.

Not at this.moment, appointments are for permits, commercial dr lic, and transferring lic from different states. Enhanced license has been extended till 2021, if you need to renew you can do that online you just need a vision test.(check CVS or Walgreens they will send results electronically.
