This is definitely a very entertaining place for your young ones. It is in no way worth $24, not even close. Even with a slow toddler you'll be done with this exhibit and about an hour. I believe most people that attend this have the membership.

I am happy to have a membership to Thanksgiving Point so that we can come over again and again to the Butterfly Biosphere! It was so fun to be able to hold the butterflies and have them just come land on you! I could spend hours here. Unfortunately my daughter, come to find out, is scared of the butterflies coming close to her (so sorry for the screaming to anyone who was there that day). So we weren't able to stay long on our first time. But I will be back! Such an awesome place!

Love the Butterfly Biosphere. Have been here with my kids many times. It’s not as big as the other Thanksgiving Point Museums but it’s unique and fun. A must-do activity for families!

We went there about a week ago and once we went in there were quite a few people with their noses hanging out. There weren't too many people on the floor to tell them to fix it. There was a kid with a broken mask and an employee noticed and gave him a brand new mask still in the plastic so.... yes and no.
It is $20 per person, and you have to schedule an arrive time, but you can stay as long as you want, and it is so worth it. They have so much to see, and learn about.
The butterflies are much more active during the day. If you go in the evening there isn't so much flying around (which my 5 year old prefers) but in the early afternoon they'll fly all over the place!
The Butterfly Biosphere just opened today at Thanksgiving Point just North of the Dinosaur Museum! Live Butterflies! Its amazing!
You really don't need to, but if you live in the area consider a season pass!
Go to the Thankgiving Point website. Under "Visit", you chose Butterfly Biosphere. Then you select a date and time for your tickets.
On another matter, you have to wear your mask in the warm, humid area.
Hi Brandon! Yes, you can buy gift cards at any of the 5 Thanksgiving Point venues!
In the actual biosphere itself, depends on how you can handle the humidity and temperature. I would say 30- 45 minutes plus time to walk around the rest of the exhibit outside of the biosphere. Plus hit up the gift shop and go get ice cream next door. So an hour and a half, but that was just me and my family!
Hi Debbie! The conservatory averages 85-100 degrees and 75-85% humidity depending on the day!
Hi Sommer! The Butterfly Biosphere is a permanent venue, so we're open Monday-Saturday, closed Sundays. Hope that helps!
Hi Gady! If you visit our website, under the Education page and look under Educators, there is information about field trips! Butterfly Biosphere field trips will not be available until Fall 2019.
Hi Janice! We recommend buying tickets in advance as this is a time-ticketed venue but, as long as they are available you can get tickets at the door too.

There was lots of plants and flowers in the exhibit. They handed out a butterfly identification card. but, nothing about the plants were listed anywhere that I saw. Each plant does have a placard by it.
Hi Natasha! This is a permanent venue at Thanksgiving Point!
Hi Jodie! Children ages 2 and under are free, so you don’t need to worry about getting a ticket for them!
