This place has something for everyone. There's soccer fields, walking paths, and even a disc golf course. There's also an awesome outdoor theater.

Amazing play area and structure

Really enjoyed this fun place for the kids. Nice size with lots of space so that the kid’s can enjoy being around other kid’s. Outside of the castle, there’s a very nice picnic area with gazebo and tables. Big wide open field with lots of greenery. Also available to give birthday parties for the kiddie’s there. Very enjoyable place.

Quite the impressive playground!

This is a common issue. Brought my kids here in early 2000s. They have yet to get running water to this specific location after 20 years. Maybe when my kids have kids they'll understand and fix it. However the bathrooms there are really not in great condition anyway. The kids (6) I brought the other day said that the boys room was a mess and really smelled bag. This was on a Friday around 2pm in the afternoon.
Hi Jose. 1) Inclusiveness is worthy & necessary. Excluding children isn’t worthy. 2) Kids Castle is 22-yrs old & was reaching its end of lifespan. The Castle itself was saved from demolition but all the surrounding play structures needed to be removed & replaced. 3) We've not been closed a year. Major construction was needed to upgrade the subgrade - foundation work, adequate drainage, concrete installation, & so forth. The length of closure is not unusual for the amount of work done. 4) The money for the project was raised by volunteers with contributions from the community, sponsors, Grants, & in-kind donations of goods & service. 5) The enhancements are a total & complete rebuild of the project area & therefore, not modest. 6) The priorities are in order & the goal is providing a safe, free fun-place for all children to enjoy & that includes kids with special needs. Thanks for your support of play for all abilities at Kids Castle :) Please Donate here: http://bit.ly/All-Abilities
Update Aug 21, 2020: The Kids Castle playground is open. Old, out of date reply below: The Park itself Jasmin remains open while the Kids Castle playground is temporarily closed for improvements and the installation of new play structures for children of all abilities including kids with special needs. If you're able to do a Google search on Central Park, Doylestown... the Google map will show you the entire expanse of Central Park. The Kids Castle playground is located within Central Park. I hope that helps answer your question Jasmin. For updates on Kids Castle please continue to visit our website at www.SaveKidsCastle.org - And thank you for your ongoing support of Kids Castle and play for all abilities Jasmin :)
**Updated** Kids Castle for All Abilities is open for play! Sunrise to sunset, 7-days a week. Enjoy! 🏰🙂 We are actually temporarily closed every day while our improvements project continues for children of all abilities including kids with special needs. There is a little quirk on the Google Business site whereas if we do not show any time at all as opened, then the site may show us as opened all the time even though we are temporarily closed. If that happens, then people may travel great distances thinking we are open and we do not want anyone to experience that disappointment. So right now we are showing a half-hour in the middle-of-the-night as open so Google Maps will show Kids Castle as closed during the normal hours of the day when anyone would consider visiting. I hope I was able to explain that well enough for it to make sense :) Please keep checking our website at www.SaveKidsCastle.org for updates on a reopening date and thank you for your ongoing support :)
Yes. Just not inside the fenced area which is where the castle is located.
I believe so, but to be sure, check out the Township's Facebook Page 🙂https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0Qhjzej1kiehyw6qBH1AB3k1Ho5rzp7FVMP8XY8djmoZ5KzeKoEBXUX5QH6SK63Qkl&id=100064357252681 Or if you'd like to call them directly on Monday, they can be reached at 215.348.9915 🙂
Yes you can we see tons of birthdays there all the time, you just have to call the township to reserve the pavillion
Yes Andrea, the Township themselves are having ongoing Concerts in the Park this 2022 season. I believe the next one scheduled is June 15, 2022 at 7p, but you can check with the Township directly at 215.348.9915. Their offices are open Mon-Fri 8:30a to 4:30p. Enjoy Andrea! 😊🏰
I followed grand child into and up to top of castle and down winding tunnel slide. Mostly crawling on hand and knees up ramps and under overheads was cramped but passable for a 5'10" 65 yr old grandpa, got me winded though. 5 yr.olds are fast!
Umm I'm not sure anyone would know something that specific. If I'm there again I'll try and "guess" or find a digital app for measuring distances. Sorry I can't help you more.
Yes.
***UPDATE OCT 2020*** Yes, Kids Castle for All Abilities IS OPEN from sunrise to sunset, 7-days a week! Enjoy! It is not Kellie 😔 The Kids Castle playground is still temporarily closed. For future opening plans, please reach out to the Township directly at 215.348.9915. I am sure they will be very helpful. Their offices are open to receive calls Mon thru Fri from 8:30a to 4:30p. The Park itself is open and the Tot Lot for younger children near the soccer fields. I hope this info is helpful Kellie. Be well and stay safe 😊
Hi Andrew. I hope you are well. It's best to reach out to the Township directly at 215.348.9915 to get a timeline on that. Their open Mon to Fri 8:30a to 4:30p for calls. The Kids Castle playground is still temporarily close during the Yellow Phase of the Governor's orders. Stay safe Andrew 😊
The Kids Castle playground is still temporarily closed. The Park itself is open but Kids Castle is not.
The Park itself is open Angela with plenty to see & enjoy... The Kids Castle playground within the Park however is temporarily closed for upgrades and to install new play structures for children of all abilities including kids with special needs. Presently, there is no firm date for the reopening of Kids Castle, although we are now estimating late August - early Sept depending on whether or not the torrential rains we've been having over the many months continue. This project is a huge undertaking. The area being developed spans over almost half of the entire playground. Volunteers have happily invested over six-years of their lives to raise over $500,000 to move this project forward. We all want it done yesterday, but are so very happy that it will been done soon. In hindsight, it may have better to provide Summer 2019 as the estimated reopening time frame. Please keep checking our website for updates at www.SaveKidsCastle.org & thank you for your ongoing support Angela.
Hi Leslie, Barring any inclement weather delays, the Friends of Kids Castle committee is presently estimating Nov 2019 for the Grand Reopening of the playground. It’s best to keep checking their website at www.SaveKidsCastle.org for any updates. As they get closer to the completion of this improvement project, they will set a firm date for the reopening of the playground and post it on their website. They are installing many new play structures that will be usable by children of all abilities including kids with special needs. I was down at Kids Castle yesterday and the installation is moving forward :)
It has never been shut down that I know of. But I haven't been there recently so I can't be positive. Did you check the website? It should tell you there if anything is going on that would cause it to close. Either way if you happen to go and it is closed then the park is a nice place to walk around and explore.
Normal hours are 7am til 8 pm
Yes, totally free Donna... Although, the Kids Castle playground is temporarily closed for improvements including many new play pieces that will be usable by children of all abilities including kids with special needs. Stay tuned and up to date on our Grand Reopening by visiting our website at www.SaveKidsCastle.org :) (This temporary closure is as of July 2019 and no confirmed reopen date, but estimating August 2019)
The Kids Castle playground in Doylestown Township is temporarily close from Monday, April 8, 2019 through late-July 2019 to install new play structures usable by children of all abilities including kids with special needs. The Park itself will remain open during the entire project. During this temporary closure, new play structures will be installed that meet the needs of children with a variety of abilities at all ends of the spectrum to encourage and enable them to play with one another. Children will be able to participate equally and independently at their own skill levels with their siblings, neighbors, caregivers, and friends. Play features are also included for children with visual impairment, hearing impairment, autism/SPD, mobility impairment, and cognitive disabilities. Please check for updates on our website at www.SaveKidsCastle.org Thank you! :)
It's a large public park all free . except the ice cream truck
Yes
It's an outside castle and is not a shelter from the rain. In fact some of the wood can get slippery inside when wet.
Yes! And the picnic tables are covered!
No.
