I do not recommend living here. The complex is not well taken care of, the staff is rude and often takes weeks to respond to maintenance requests, my building (and according to other friends I have met in the complex MANY of the buildings) are infested with cockroaches and mold. I was attracted to the complex because of the low pricing compared to other housing in the area and got EXACTLY what I paid for.

I love waking up to the sound of birds every morning. It's quiet otherwise, and filled with squirrels and rabbits everywhere. The staff is always cheerful and willing to help. This is a beautiful place to wake up.

Today the community manager came by to say a rotten tree branch fell on my car and “cracked the windshield.” This is after weeks of residents here trying to get abandoned vehicles towed from the lot in front of the building. Then they (manager and maintenance people) proceeded to move the branch even though my insurance asked for a police report and the officer was on his way.

I have lived at Summit since August of 2020. The staff and management have been very polite and reasonable to any issues or requests I have had. Maintenance also responds fairly quickly to requests and a majority of the time are able to properly solve the issue at hand. At the beginning of the summer my AC unit went out and they ordered a new unit for my apartment. While it did take a week or two for the new unit to be delivered and installed, I was provided with a temporary window AC unit that maintenance installed for me. Since then the AC has worked great and I have had no issues. I currently live in a top floor unit and have had no other notable issues with it besides a few roaches (which are to be expected considering this complex is in a wooded area with lots of leaf litter). Overall, the apartment buildings at Summit are old and come with some issues but management seems to strive to keep them as updated as possible and is willing to repair or replace broken or outdated amenities. The wood-burning fireplace and screened-in porch in each unit is a great amenity that I have gotten a lot of use out of so far. Management also provides upkeep of the grounds through landscaping, tree trimming, leaf blowing, power washing, etc. There is also ample parking around the buildings and no restrictions on guest parking, which is rare in Raleigh. The main negative I have for this complex is the noise. The walls/floors in the buildings are thin so it is easy to hear loud music/noises and people walking around. Despite this, it is only occasionally that the noise bothers me and I have never been inclined to file a noise complaint. The staff does attempt to reduce noise and any other complaints by sending out a community reminder if there are repeated complaints.
