Yes it should be. Usually opens in June (if I remember correctly)
You would have to call them to find out, I haven't seen it posted yet that they were back open for camping
Went early last few years dont know about later in the season
Is closed go by yourself and see with your own eyes is closed at the prison site says road closed
Marcus-katrina unsell Yes Balch is open now
So opposing answers only? Does anyone have any solid information? Where can I find out for sure?????
Its actually open we were there yesterday..
Where do you pay to vamp there, I would like to go this saturday
You don't need to do any reservations at all its a first come first serve if your planning on camping out as your driving up it will say campgrounds full if you don't see any that means that there's still space some where's in the campgrounds so I hope this information was some help good luck and God bless you guy's always I hope you guy's enjoy.
You could do what's best for you there is wood there and everyone there can get it free of cost or you could also take your own as will we take very little but usually we use what thay got there the ranger's have it cut up on the side of the roads or thay ask you if you would like some wood as will ...
You know whtagim very scared of heights to be honest with you and once we start going up there it's pretty good we drive slow going up there because we have kids and because of the heights as will..put it to you this way I drive up there myself now instead of my husband.
Opened and no known road blocking nor any detours noted. I was just there a few weeks ago and it was beautiful as ever and the green wilderness and healthy Redwood Grove's
I am the ranger for Balch park and yes almost all of our sites have grill and fire pits
Yes, but only the wood they sell. And only in the provided fire pits in each camp site.
I was there this past weekend with my family. There were alot of spots open for camping.great place
Yes. I was just there. They are open.
Yes, it is open for camping and day use
Should be able to, but the sites are first come first serve no reservations.
Hi ive visited a few times and they have different size camping areas youll be able to have a trailer and like 3 /4 big sized family tents. In the area plus more spaces as well on the outside
Yess i went camping there last weekend very fresh and peaceful plenty of fish to catch as well
Nope not yet, was there a couple days ago
Balch park campgrounds are closed for the winter season
Balch is closed until next year. Yes bear boxes yes toilets no showers
I just called and was told the park closes at dark. No overnight camping. Fishing available at lower pond
Yes hidden falls is the only place to get into the water up there. (Please be shure to watch your children vary closely in the river)
Believe this would be the last week open with the best of my knowledge because last week u went and I asked..
u can go in at anytime but make sure you check in with the camp host at 7am. and pay.
They have 3 lakes at balch park but you can not swim in them, however you can go up to hidden falls and swim in the river
Trout
It is quite curvy. But there are trucks that get up there, but I did see big homes like that up there. I don't know about the electricity situation.
No size limit. But its first come first serve. Each camp site is different. The site right across from the host are the biggest ones.
Yes Dogs. On a leash.
As a general rule, they don't inhabit higher elevations. Balch Park is 6000+. Anything is possible, but we've never encountered any snakes in the area. Have a great time & make sure you check out Hidden Falls.
Yea the earlier the better and weekends are almost always full
Same as every year a dollar for the night and first come first serve
Balch Park does not have showers, but you can buy solar shower bags in sporting goods at places like Walmart or Big 5.
To be honest with you with the best of my Knowledge I dont think so but I might be wrong because we had asked years back and the ranger's there had told us no but I can get more information on it if you like.
Yes they are open
Mid week is pretty open we start to fill up late thurs into Fri you can bring wood gather anything on the ground or purchase from the camp host for a suggested donation
If you're driving up from Porterville, Batch Park Road is closed at Springville.
