Loved that they had a reservation system, probably kept the crowd down. We enjoyed the amazing trail to the falls area and had fun in the water. The drought made for the falls being very calm, but still beautiful. This is a must stop for anyone who loves waterfalls. The hike was only about a mile and half, but going back, it is mostly all uphill. Bring water, there is water at the start, but nothing after that.

Great place for a hike, there is an observation deck to view the falls, just be prepared, it's downhill going out and uphill coming back, make sure to bring water, most areas do not have cell reception. There are spots by the falls where you can get in the water and cool off, but be prepared, best to have some sort of water shoes and a towel, you don't want wet feet when you put your shoes on to hike back out, and the water shoes are because it is rocky and can be slippery in bare feet.

There are so many trails everywhere. You can find something for the beginner to the expert trailblazers. There are lots of shaded trails and pockets of paradise all around this park. I recommend coming early to beat the heat!

Reservation are only needed on weekends and holidays! Beautiful small waterfalls and wild flowers! Easy hike, well maintained! Lots of options for routes.

There are a few trails, not sure if they all have jumps.
Only weekends and certain weekdays listed on the Hidden Falls website require reservations
Yes.
Yes last I heard but they must remain on the leash and you must pick up after your dog.
Hidden Falls Access Trail and the Canyon View Trail. And yeah, more like wading than swimming
You should check with Placer County Parks before flying there.
Only one parking lot. About 30-45 min walk to the first waterfall.
If you follow the map its gonna show where the picnic areas are. There are two viewing decks. One near the falls the other one higher up. You can eat at those spots. But there's one that's my favorite, when you go down the north legacy trail before the bridge, on the left side trail there is a beautiful picnic area there.
I wouldn't fish here, specially with auburn wildlife area next door
Check their website. They're pretty good about posting when closed.
Before the gate close before sunset.
Passes are only required on the weekends and holidays. It's open sunrise to sunset all other days, no pass needed and plenty of parking.
If there are no more tickets for that day, it means they are sold out
No rentals available at the park- have to bring your own bike
Placer County owns the park. For weekend parking reservations use this link: https://www.placer.ca.gov/2617/Hidden-Falls-Regional-Park
We paid $16 for the day for 2 people and 3 dogs. So worth it for a great 4+ hour hike.
If there is, but so you can be there you have to make a visit appointment
There are all kinds of animals. That's why it's important to stay on the trails and read the signs. 😊 If you do that, you'll be fine.
Yes! Pretty much all the trials are kid and pet friendly. They range from half mile loops to longer mile plus loops. A few more advanced loops but it is in pitch and grade.
Hiddin falls is beautiful.
$8 per vehicle for a full day. $4 for a half day. https://www.placer.ca.gov/departments/facility/parks/parks-content/parks/hidden-falls
From the parking lot take either S. Legacy or Poppy Trail down to the first bridge; Whiskey Diggins, CROSS the bridge and the first trail on the left is Hidden Falls Access Trail.
Free Monday through Friday except certain special weekdays days that are listed on the website
There will be some bumpy spots. A jogging stroller would certainly smooth out the trail.
Dogs are allowed. They need to be leashed, which protects them from horses, mountain bikes, and the occasional rattlesnake.
You must make a reservation on line at their website before you go so you cpuld probably get information there.
Approximately 2 miles.
I have made reservations many times and have mot seen that come up.
Not sure, but as a park visitor, I would prefer to not encounter drones at Hidden Falls.
Parking is not free on the weekends (and some Fridays) and holidays. $8 for early or full day and $4 for partial day. I don't see anything about a refund or reuse. I would call the Placer County parks department and ask.
I live nearby and have killed5 rattlesnakes in the last 2 years. Be cautious.
