They finally built a ranger station down here at the Confluence of the American River. Nice parking area friendly rangers! Make sure and pay to park. There's free parking however when you cross the river and go towards Vool on highway 49. That's the trail towards No Hands Bridge. I'm the old foresthill road side where the ranger kiosk is, there are beautiful trails all along the river in all directions, both forks!
