I live nearby and have killed5 rattlesnakes in the last 2 years. Be cautious.
Make sure you go to the website to reserve parking and pay the fee. You will be turned away if you don't.
I believe parking registration is for Saturday and Sunday only.
Several of the trails are fairly easy. There are always families with their young children hiking down to the waterfall. The trails that say medium or difficult mainly just have switch backs and a bit of a grade. I bet children ages 6 to 11+ will be fine. I for one enjoy running the trail. In addition, I recommend hiking in the morning because several of the trails don't have canopy cover during the afternoon.
They have a fire road loop, some level single track and some steeper trail. The parking is now by pre registration.
I don't think I would take an inexperienced Rider there.
It is good for biking and 9th3r things but you have a few part that are steep
Trails are marked for easy. Or intermediate, also for horse riding or biking. Very kid friendly.
Totally kid friendly. Many different trail choices.
When we last took these trails, there were many families with young children walking on the trail. There are hiking and biking trails. Most children on bikes, however, looked to be about 10+. There are a variety of trails with varying difficulty, but you can get to the best of trails within a fairly short distance of the start and I would consider them easy. There is a little bit of an uphill to get back to the parking lot, but it's not too bad if the weather is nice.
