Employees would rather answer personal phone calls then help customers. Also Sat and waited for them to find a car for us even tho we had one ordered

Very efficient process to pick up and return the car. The office is not inside the airport but there is a shuttle that brings you there in few minutes.

Overall great experience, but a small "snag" upon arrival. I booked this well in advance, but when we arrived they said they're all out of vehicles! I thought that was the point of reservation?? Had this actually been a WORK RELATED trip, I'd be furious. But it was vacation, so I was patient. They initially offered a smaller/ less expensive vehicle than what I booked, but with my corporate pricing, a full-size would be the same price. So I opted to wait for a full size. Luckily it wasn't long until a brand new 2022 Charger was available. At least they resolved it fairly quickly. And they were very kind in the process.

Yes they do. Ensure that it is NOT temporary debit card. It must have your name embossed on it. Also, they will authorize more than your rental costs which don't be released until about 24-72 hours after payment or another card is used
National and Alamo would be where you would drop off. It's across the street from Enterprise. Yes enterprise closes at 7:00 pm, however national and Alamo are branches of enterprise, with an Enterprise at national and Alamo. Hertz is a completely different company.
It's always good to be early. A good schedule I have when I rent is return the car an hour early, allowing you time to do what you want to do at the airport and finish airport tasks. In your case: check in for flight 24 hours before the flight. Drop off passenger(s) at 5:30 am Return vehicle as soon as passenger(s) are dropped off (5:40 am) Bus will take you to terminal Get to gate by 6:30 am Hopefully this helps.
I have always returned from where I picked up at enterprise RDU location. I recently had to return to the National location (after hours)

They do not offer parking, but you could use an rdu lot and shuttle, there would be a fee.
Call them directly to enquire and book reservation for that vehicle.
If you call number provided for that location in confirmation/reminder email or in app reservation info they'll tell you hours. I recall midnight to 5 they have alternative pick up process but don't remember details.
I think Monday to Friday they run from 8 am to 6 pm. Then Saturday from 9 am to noon. Those are the hours from the rental office in the airport.
