Here’s my second review for Budget at RDU. Still terrible. Fast Break is a joke here, your car will NOT be ready. Don’t ask questions, staff at the Fast Break booth do NOT like to be asked questions! 🙄 My car was filthy, it looked like it hadn’t been washed in a month. Car was old, no apple car play, no gps, no anything really, it was a base model Corolla. Do better Budget!

1. I was charged double the amount needing to be charged. 2. Vehicle was not what I rehearsed by any means nor anything similar. 3. Vehicle needed an oil change. 4. Vehicle needed to he serviced. 5. Vehicle needed windshield wiper fluid. 6. Charged for gas although I brought the car back full. 7. The only good thing was that the inside of the car was clean.

In my experience, there was one line and everyone was assisted in order. No preference was made for those who had made reservations ahead of time versus making the reservations at the desk. This may be different when more people are working the counter, but I did not observe a "priority" line. Took forever, mid April. I had a reservation and I had no issue getting a vehicle (eventually).

They way that have you exit, with the trolly, I think you'll be pushing it. They would need the bus driver. The counter person and the person at the exit to stay, that is if your flight got there on time, you were able to exit and run to the bus area. Assuming you don't have checked luggage. It may be easier to get a hotel for the evening and then rent a car in the morning

Thrre is a shuttle to/from RDU. You can use Long Term Parking at the airport for $7 a day Friday through Sunday ($14 all other days).
You can rent from them no matter where you live; however, if you choose to return the car to a different budget location than the one you rented it from, it will cost extra. You can also look online for coupons to use if renting online- doing this can save a good bit of money.
You take a shuttle
They have a personal in the lot at all times just for returns I returned my car at 3am.
