In general I am super happy with National, but this last rental experience left me a but disappointed. The car I rented died in an intersection. I was traveling on business so I didn't have free time in my day. Calling roadside assistance was pretty good, and getting the keys to the tow truck driver was quick, but I had to take about 2 hours out of my day to get back to the airport for a different car... And had to pay for that out of my own pocket because the Uber link sent to me told me there were no drivers available. This was really inconvenient and I would have greatly appreciated it if the replacement car was dropped off when mine was picked up. When I explained my absence to my coworkers, every one of them was shocked that a new car was not dropped off for me and they all asked "who did you rent with?" Like I had rented with some no name firm. Adding to my experience is that the windows wouldn't completely roll up on either car. They were both mustang convertibles and the windows rolled up but left a small v-shaped crack between the front and rear windows. It was about wide enough to stick two fingers in. I'm glad it didn't rain. I will rent with national again on my next trip, but I hope it's a better experience. On the positive side, I do have to say that everybody I interacted with was helpful and friendly.

I’ve never had an easier check-in or check-out process. Being part of their Emerald Club makes things so smooth. The car was clean and brand spanking new. Great experience.

Simply the best!! As an Executive member Xavier Fragoso ensured I was in a comfortable vehicle and he was also very patient with my requests for something with low miles. Sometimes the vehicles with higher mileage can be rough, Xavier ensured I was happy! Working in the travel industry, Xavier is a great asset to the RDU Team!

I think that location opens at 4:30am and yes it is not at the terminal so you need to drive there, but it is not far at all.
I've never had to wait than 10 minutes
The minivans I have seen did not have roof racks. I have never rented a minivan from RDU so far.
Also depends on location. Some states are cheaper than others
I have seen mustangs in the lot not sure if they are GT or not. Some habe been convertibles.
