In the first days of our trip, we took nature walks around Mount Hood and enjoyed it very much, we had a very enjoyable time, we took hundreds of photos of the waterfall. Then we saw such neat places and had such different experiences that when we look back, my wife said that it was like a municipal cultural park here, next to the others. In the end, I'm posting this here by saying that every photo with a combination of mountain, stone, water, family is worth sharing š¬ā¤ļø

Hardcore hike, a lot of beautiful views. A lot of mental and physical challenges. I found what I was looking for. Hopefully you will find as well

Salmon River Trailhead, great forest hike along the river. Picnic spots on nice sunny Riverside rocks. Walk-in campsites. Go on a weekday to have the place to yourself. Visit the nearby Sugarpine Drive-in after for some great food and treats...
No. When the lifts are running, the highest point is on the Palmer lift at 8,540 feet.
Bagby hot springs is in that area
There is free camping soon as you hit Zigzag. Mc.niel is huge and beautiful. Last time I was there it was free. Then from there all the way up 86 over the mountain there is both free and paid. All nice and well managed and others just far enough out of the beatin path to start telling late night big foot stories!
Yes, in the river, and on public land. Best to check the fishing regulations guide thru the fish and game dept.
Not really, the only service we had was near Trillium lake, 2 or 3 bars of 4G LTE from Verizon and a little less from Sprint
There's a 10-15 mile stretch along 224 east of Estacada where dispersed camping is not allowed. Once you're past that (there is a sign), you can camp anywhere.
Yes it is
There are despersed campsites in the Mt Hood National forest. Or any number of pay camp sites, usually reserved earlier in the year over the internet. Despersed sites are those without bathroom facilities and you dont pay. You can google them. Hope this helps.
I have Sprint and did a zoom video call while in the middle of Trillium Lake!
Yes
It depends on your tastes. In spring it is comfortable for those who can not stand very cold. It's very comfortable. But in winter the wild must be very interesting. Full of snow that is the natural state of this place. Sorry for the translation I used Google
