A great place to disperse camp around the lake if you have a vehicle with a high clearance ( truck/duv). You can disperse camp around entire lake, with amazing views everywhere. Just know that camping next to a lake is always an loud experience. You will hear every camper on the lake, it is a popular party lake as well. Don't take your sedan down to lakes edge. I pickup parts constantly from somesones car that they tried to offeoad in.

Let's be honest. The main campground is small and rustic. Has that high cascade feeling. Quite nice. If you have a larger rv it may not be the best campground. Also the driveway around the place flows clockwise, so if you have an RV with a passenger side door, the door will not face your campsite if you reserve a waterfront site. Trout fishing is good. They love Thomas 1/6 oz. gold spoons in there. Now for kayaking, the afternoon wind can make it difficult so get on the water early if you want to get some good time in kayaking. This lake has primitive camps around most of the lake and due to that it makes it feel a little crowded. There's lots of them! We live 3 hours away so likely we won't ever be back, however if we lived on the Portland area this place would make a decent "quick camp" option.

Such a beautiful lake! I went there with my dad for a camping trip while everything was frozen. Tons of trails to snow mobile and great for snow hiking as well! Absolutely gorgeous in the winter and summer!

I really enjoyed this campground. The sites are all huge and the bathrooms were clean. It was beautiful with wild flowers all over the place. Quick access to government camp if you need to stock up. The hike around the lake was great if muddy in some spots. The water out of the hand pump was a little discolored but tasted fine. I will be coming back soon!
