We stayed here for several days. Just great all around. Loved our room with the view! Dining room and bar have great prices considering the remote location. You stay here for the classic experience and amazing location not modern amenities.

This is an old hotel on the National Register of Historic Places. The "old girl" is in major need of renovation within the constraints of its historic status. It is making slow but steady progress in coming back from the COVID pandemic situation. There is still no room service, but there is maid service now. Breakfast and dinner are still buffets, but our server said that they hope to be back to off the menu service by May in the dining room.I believe that lunch is ordered off the menu. The bar offers food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, first come first served. I had a couple of salads, 1 with long stemmed artichokes and another with quinoa that was surprisingly tasty. The concierge service is very helpful. Stephen is my favorite. He makes you feel right at home---a comforting and cozy feeling. Bring your credit cards. This hotel is pricey.

Beautiful historic hotel with exceptional views! The service was outstanding! We accidentally forgot to get our stuff out of our room before we left on a morning hike our last day. The front desk manager asked if she could pack our stuff for us and bring our luggage down....of course I agreed and she thanked me for letting her do that for us! We will definitely return next time we head to Yosemite!

Gorgeous hotel! It’s about 100 years old but it’s well preserved. Loved the old world rustic elegance. Location and food were also great! Restaurants are open to the general public. The bar side has more variety in the food menu. There is a sweets shop in the lobby selling local chocolates and other less local things. Lots of comfortable seating throughout the first floor. Nice outdoor area to eat lunch or throw a frisbee. Would love to stay here next time.

Should be okay, I'd recommend doing so at the Wawona Hotel because it was built in the 1870s where as the Ahwahnee was built in the 1920s.
Snow tires no. Bring chains just in case. I've been there and it snowed in june
Yes! No park services. No one at the kiosk to take your money. No bathrooms. It is still just as beautiful. Enjoy yourself!
Only half decent coverage in your room. Essentially non-existent in the common area.
Call directly. They are booked 2 years in advance.
It's now officially the Majestic Yosemite Hotel due to a legal dispute with the US government. If you say the Ahwahnee people still kniw what you're talking about though
You can also take your own drinks, but yes, the bar (in the restaurant) was open to-go. The actual bar is not open at all. Many people had their own wine out on the lawn. Go now with no crowds! Totally worth every penny.
No.
As much as it would be a total luxury after a long hike, unfortunately -- they do not have a spa.
Step back in time. Ahwahnee hotel is an iconic structure That grows more precious with age . Yes, it is expensive and I don't know why the park service doesn't curb Or standardize the cost. Having said that I know that maintaining the The building, the grounds And keeping the food at a high quality Is costly. The fall is my favorite time at the Ahwahnee . Fires are lit and the beautiful fireplaces burn with a special glow. A hot toddy, a book, the fire, Maybe forget the book . You are the architect of a wonderful experience In a fabulous environment. WARNING: Don't go to the park in the summer. Park authorities don't know what to do with automobiles. Apparently there is no direction from National Park Service. There does not appear to be a plan to manage the population in the park. This has been done at the Grand Canyon which has prohibited automobiles from going to the park.(it can handle the people.) They Ahwahnee lodge in Yosemite is sn A + in my book.
Look for prices at hotels.com
Last week they weren't, but it's definitely warmed up.
Call them to find out very beautiful place and the best all you can eat breakfast
Didn't stay there only ate breakfast and we had the buffet all you can eat and it was delicious
For a short stay (weekend) only if they went above and beyond, such as restaurant/event recommendations that were beneficial. For a one week stay, certainly, so long as you have no issues with their work.
Yes there are
Dogs are not allowed.
If the majestic is closed you may want to check out Rush Creek Lodge which is outside the park but a 1/2 mile to a park entrance.
Yes, I understand that the old operating concessionaire Curry's company believe they can keep ahwahnee name when they lost bid on concession job for Yosemite Valley from federal government for Yosemite. I understand still in court deciding who owns a native American Indian name. On to why Hetch Hetchy was so important culturally to Native Indians for thousands of years in that area
Businesses are not generally aware of these questions the community answer them. Check they website or use a booking service like everyone else does.
They are separated but offer nice seclusion and better views than most of all the standard rooms in the hotel.
Yes. Especially for dinner. And, its helpful, but not necessarily essential for breakfast.
The hotel is in the center of the park, so you have pay the park entry fee or have an pass before to can get even close to the hotel. Next to the hotel there is free public parking, but in addition the hotel as paid valet parking, even that can get full at peak times.
Cottages are wonderful. Closest cottage to the bar in the lodge is 15 yards. We have stayed in a king room. We had a wonderful view of the upper falls from our window. Down side, it is an old building and the walls are thin
