Always having educational and entertaining activities. Staffs are polite and helpful. Bathrooms need just a little more attention.

Wonderful, family-friendly... couldn't have asked for a better day!

Couldn't miss the Harry Potter exhibition here and i'm glad we didn't. We had to much fun and love all the interactive exhibits, even at the regular part of the Science Museum. Our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The Harry Potter exhibition made you feel like you were a part of the whole story. From creating your own profile and getting to choose which team you were on, to picking your wand, and your special friend. Going from room to room, there was always a special task for you to complete in each. Getting the opportunity to see the actual costumes the actors wore was amazing. Also, the actual wands they used as well! The regular Science Museum is really great for all ages. My favorite part was the actual heart that you could walk in and actually go through all parts of the heart. My only complaint was the parking. $20 was expensive!

Disappointed at the lack of production value for the Harry Potter expo. Not only were the props cheap, but they allowed way too many people in the exhibit. We had a "time slot" and that didn't seem to matter. To all of the HP fans who gave this exhibit 5 stars, you are too easily impressed. 👎👎👎

I went in 2015 to see The Art of the Brick. I got to the museum at 11 am. I'm the kind of person who likes to wander and take their time. I walked around a bit, ate lunch, and took my timed ticket to The Art of the Brick at 2 pm. Spent 2 hours in there, got out in time for a planetarium show, and left at 5 pm. I'm an adult in my 30s, but I never rush when I go somewhere. I like to take my time when I'm making a day of it. If you don't like to rush, make a day of seeing everything, but don't forget to climb the heart!!!!
The food is not too tasty and its expensive. I'd bring my own food
Was there yesterday. Small kiosk has hot dogs sandwiches pretzels and small boxed meals along with many drink choices
Our ticket included one planetarium show.
No. This is more of kids fun center rather than an actual musem/library. I hope this helps.
Depends from where ur looking from mate?
Yes the exhibits are extra. Depending on the time of day the cost can be reduced. (This time after 5 was only $20) Often admission to an exhibit can include general museuem access as well. Try Groupon and Goldstar for discount tickets too.
Go to parking garage Play it Safe
A basic membership for one adult and one guest is $89/year. A family membership is $149/year.
I'm a School bus driver, and I just led a convoy of 4 buses at the end of April, from an Elementary school. This place is always updating its Showcases, Events, Interactive displays, and even Gift Shops. So much to do, so little time in one day.
Yes, there is a small cafe area inside the museum. There are other cafe's and restaurants in the neighborhood around the museum.
If you buy on line, you do have to pick a time slot. We showed up 2 hours late and they just let us in.
Sorry I don't have the answer
You could easily find your answer here : https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/index.cfm
There is at least one next to the elevator on each level of the parking garage. They are in with the handicap parking and are easy to miss.
In his autobiography, Poor Richard Letters, there is a quotation, "Being ignorant is not so much a Shame, as being unwilling to learn. From what I have read, Benjamin Franklin did not say the quotation that you are asking about. It apparently appeared around the year 2000 but no references cited to back it up. It would have shown up long before then if it was a true quote.
You need to check the reciprocal museums and rules for your pass.
There is parking on the 21st side of the building. Parking is $20.00.
I'm sorry. I drove a bus load of kids. All I can say is type in Franklin Institute ticket cost in the address bar at the top of your browser, and press enter. You can park your buses (for free) down by the port on Columbus Blvd., at the Walmart at Pier 70 (McDonalds & a Wa-Wa), or over by the Ikea (Chick Fil A).
Franklin Institute is very interesting! You do not want to leave the place !!!!
Septa Regional Rail is probably your best bet. They have family passes available. Driving can be a pain and parking is not cheap.
We park on the street. The parking ticket was about the same cost as the garage.
We parked at the Bourse building. Very close
There are no lockers. There is an unattended, self check coat check during daytime hours. There is an eatery onsite as well.
Yes, it's at the end of the exhibit.
you can purchase online
No free days that I am aware of. Check their website, has lots of information 🙂
There is a tent popup snack bar open with prepackaged sandwiches, chip, snacks, and bottled drinks in the area just in front of the ticketing area. Prices are rather steep. Was there Sunday 3/14/2021. Water fountains had tape on then closing them off. Bathrooms open. There was open parking on the street directly across from the front door. Timed entry to keep density down.
When I went it was 11 to 5
Because Benjamin franklin represented the colonies in london and later in paris where he won the friendship and the financial aid of france during the Revolution against England he also help to write both the declaration of independence and the constitution of the united state....
I did not see it
I think most of exhibitions are for age 4 and above.
Don't know. Stayed at hotel across street so just walked
Not sure check the web site
They are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2019
5PM. Same time as the museum but they allow you time to get to your car.
Yes
$20 24 hour parking. For members $15. Good place to park as it is centrally located. No free parking nearby
9 to 17 h
Usually in the morning is good as it's not too crowded...or so I've found. As for day...not sure, but I would say a weekday might be good. Hope that helps 😊
There are free community nights at the museum. Not sure when they are though.
You need to visit the Franklin Institute website to answer your question
But with an Access card it's 2.00 each for up to four people?
No, you would pick it up there
No I do not think so
Very interesting! Kids will love the interactive exhibits. Lots to see.
Im sorry ept I'm not sure what that stands for?
We were lucky and found street parking but the lots for 20 dollars is not a bad deal at all
I'm pretty sure it will be normal price. I think the only time you get a discounted price is with a Pennsylvania food stamp card (SNAP card), if it is even one of the museums in the area that do that.
They have an underground parking deck. Access is from 21st and Winter St.
Yes there are
The franklin institute is not just about Benjamin franklin history. You may have better luck just visiting his house
There is an entrance to the right of the stairs.
Yes, the odor is still there, but it's in a small hallway (both walls has some type of odor on each wall).
Not sure about that discount but they do have community days where you can get in for free!
No sure. You might want to check with the company just to make sure.
Through various clubs and memberships, like AAA, yes.
It varies depending on whay you do its about $25-48/person but if you have an access food card or medical card it's only $4 to get in and covers up to 4 ppl
Visiting cardholders must present their valid ACCESS Card and photo ID to receive the discount. One (1) ACCESS Card admits up to four (4) family members at a rate of $2 per person—including the ACCESS Cardholder. Admission is to be paid by the visitor, not through their EBT card. The ACCESS admission discount is not valid on special exhibitions or features, or with any other offers or group rates. Click on our Access Admission Sites list to see all the places you can go and how to get there. This opportunity is ongoing, and can be used repeatedly. If you like, please share your experiences on social media with #ACCESS2PHL. And Enjoy!
Yes the website would be a good bet to make an order
Not sure but we did the star gazing night and it was worth every bit of ten dollars to get in after hours
The Game Masters is a new exhibit. It is a journey through 40 years of video games.
I dont understand your question.
We didnt have a stamp pass. Sorry i couldnt answer that question
Not worth it. Literally a big room with video games set up for kids to play....they can do that at home!
Never!!
3rd Floor
Seriously?
I recommend bringing a sack lunch. They're food is ok, but if there's a line it takes a while to get through it.
Yes you can take in a back pack
Suburban Station is at JFK and 16th.
Up
It is well worth the cost of the $23 if you go early in the day because you need at least for 5 hours to see and enjoy the place
There is a parking garage behind/beneath the museum. There is also free parking next to the building, though it is usually full.
We went this past week, parked on the street just a couple minute walk from TFI. We went early in the day and had no problem
I didn't see it either
For adults $20-30 dollars and $15-26 dollars for kids. That's for general admission
Just say that he's 10 they don't ask for I.D
Check the website or email them
Yes, extra. You can get a package that has Imax and the mobile tour and the warriors. I recall it being $45 for non-members.
Don't worry brotatoe chip, you can buy tix there.
I think I may not grasp your question. Nevertheless, I would advise you to contact them about special events for child with special needs. I do believe they have, specialty due the interactive features of the museum.
The Franklin Institute has a parking garage located at 21st and Winter Streets. From there, handicap accessible entrances are on 20th street. To the right of the main entrance and stairs you will see a ramp that leads to the 1st floor entrance at ground level. Everything from there is handicap accessible.
If u have a pa access or government card you get a discount.admission as cheap as $2.
You should check with them directly for confirmation. But neat wedding idea!
