Yes, they have coat rooms. They aren't locked.
Yes. Self serve. No attendant. We checked coats & large stadium umbrellas without any problems. We spent 3.5 hrs at the museum on a busy Sunday morning (Feb 2018) & afternoon & felt our belongings were safe. And they were. It's open to the public. You do not need permission to use the coat check room. It's on the first floor near the restrooms.
Yes they do in the basement
They offer a coat room to hang extra items
You can leave (not check! ) your coat down by the lunchroom. It's not supervised.
They have self check coat rooms. It's by the lunch room on the first floor. Self check so they aren't responsible for your things in any way and if someone accidentally takes your coat it isn't their issue. But I left my coat and bag there and it was fine
Hmm Wondered if they had one too.. We visited the week of Thanksgiving and I ended up the one carrying everyone's coat... Because I was the handi capable one using the Walker with a basket.. Not a problem, however I wish they would have been more specific about it upon entering π€. My advice is to always call the institution for the right answers to your specific questions... Rules Change and the information you need may not always be quite so accurate in a forum such as this π HOWEVER, visiting the Franklin institute..day and night is something you don't want to miss ... With or without your coatπ Wether you live in Philly..or just visiting! Enjoy ππ

They have coat rooms but i think you have to ask before you put your things in there.
