Yes the exhibits are extra. Depending on the time of day the cost can be reduced. (This time after 5 was only $20) Often admission to an exhibit can include general museuem access as well. Try Groupon and Goldstar for discount tickets too.

It may well worth to sign up for a personal or family membership. There is plenty to see and do on multiple trips through out the year. Member prices are also lower for parking and the special exhibits ($10 For terra cotta warriors)
