Thank goodness there is a "train" to ride across this bridge. You can also ride your own bike. The views are so magical. I bet during the fall it is just spectacular. Nice gift shop. Very nice

Walkway over the Hudson is one the beautiful, accessible and attraction from the Hudson River “Poughkeepsie-Highland”. This place is fantastic for running, cycling or walking with your favorite person 😉 Smoking, drinking not allowed at this place/area. You can find local vendors for coffee, popcorn 🍿 and of course ice cream at summer season! The place offers public amenities such as; restrooms, an elevator, information center, exquisite vistas, and has an abundance of parking on either side of the Hudson River east and west. If you use google map app, you can find lot of good places for eating, drinking after your visit, one of the places I highly recommended is Lolita’s pizza 🍕 (wood fire pizza place 🤤) reasonable price, fast service and even you can order your pizza and take it up to bridge and enjoy the view and pizza 🍕. There are multiple recycle ♻️ bins at each side, please protect our planet 🌏 by keeping it clean! Thanks 😊

This is one of my favorite places with amazing views. I love to come here for a walk with my dog or for a bike ride. Easily accessible it is a great connection between Poughkeepsie and highland. The time it’s open changes depending on the season so make sure to check the hours on their website before going.

We are from California and this is one of the coolest landmarks to visit in New York. I love the scenery and crisp air. Oh and it's free! Absolutely beautiful! Hate to return to the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Enjoying it while it lasts. ❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😎

The elevator is not in service most of the time. Is nice to ride the bikes.
Yes. If weather permits. It will be open Thanksgiving day.
The only wifi would be any hotspot that you can connect to, the bridge itself does not have wifi
Yes, you can. Driving and walking it is accessible from either side of the river.
Mariners harbor which is now open in Kingston.
Oh I don't know. Hope so. I forgot about moon Walk. Thanks for the reminder ☺️
It is 1.3 miles each way.
On the ny side there is a parking lot with a straight road to the bridge. The road could be accessed by a wheelchair but the parking lot is not paved like the rest of the bridge.
If you contact the folks at the Walkway over the Hudson organization I'm sure they can make arrangements to have the elevator available for you when you need it. They are a very proactive and helpful group of people, if they got this bridge up and running, they can help you with ANYTHING you may need, just contact them. Enjoy your visit!
YES ITS OPEN
Metro-North Hudson line to Poughkeepsie
Yes. Walked my pup last week. Just be careful of the hot surfaces. We walked on the slightly shaded side for his paws.
Yes the rail trail over the Hudson River is open and most if not all parts East and West for 20 miles
Yes to the foliage, and they were using the elevator last week when I was there.
We have eight Walkway at Night events each year. Check out walkway.org/events for our full calendar.
Yes. 87 Haviland Road Highland, NY 12528
You xan park free on both sides while spots are available, we prefer parking on the Highland side, there appears to be more parking spaces.
No fees unless there's an event such as 4th of July. It's a really nice walk, 1.25 miles each way with a breeze once you're over the river.
Not sure, but you can enter from the west side and just walk right out to the bridge. No stairs, no elevator.
Normally yes, but not for events like 4th of July. Best to check the website or call them in case of an event.
Yes it is free. It is also free to park. Enjoy, it's a beautiful crossing! Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen on a sunny day.
So worth it! Best 4th of July we had.
There's a big deal for The Fourth of July!
the east side of the bridge is attached to the City of Poughkeepsie proper, while the western side may I attach to some trails as it terminates in Highland which is rural. The walkway over the Hudson is part of a bicycle path in Dutchess County that goes all the way down to East Fishkill, Fishkill, and Beacon though.
You can enter on the East at 61parker Avenue, Poughkeepsie 12601or from the West at 87 Havilland Road , Highland NY 12528. Neither requires stairs. The West will get you over the water quicker.
Not too windy generally unless there is a storm going on!
Free parking on the west side of the river. There is only a toll to cross the mid Hudson bridge by car going East. No toll for the pedestrian bridge. The bridge till by car was $1.50 But it could be more by now.
61 Parker Avenue Poughkeepsie NY 12601 is the official lot.
It is open in the evening past sunset for special events. You need to bring a flashlight.
As Sankung suggested, give yourself a couple hours. Also, bring a camera, the view is awesome!
