Re the elevator; can it take bikes and if so, how many at a time, approximately.. Is it currently working?. Thanks, Richard Fine

The elevator is not in service most of the time. Is nice to ride the bikes.

I have been on the bridge many times. It is a wonderful experience, however the elevator operation has not been consistent on my visits. But yes I'd guess about two bikes or so at a time.

I don't think the elevator works. This is still NY after all.

I'll say 2 bikes?

It was working during our visit. We did not note how large the elevator car was or if rules allow bike transport.
