What a wonderful, friendly, clean state park. It’s my first time staying at an Oregon State Park, and this place is wonderful. The overall park is clean and well kept. But my favorite was the showers. Easily the best showers I’ve come across at any park or RV park. Modern, clean, free, lots of hot water, and plenty of them available. Not even one of those pesky “please limit shower to xx minutes” or “please pick up after yourself” or such. To the people that maintain the showers, run this park, or manage the Oregon State Park system - well done!!

I had nowhere to park my rv for the night and everything in the area was full. Luckily the South Beach State Park had a cancellation and I got a spot for the night. The rv area has a really nice layout with paved roads and gentle speed bumps that didn't hammer on my rig. It was nice and quiet, even though the park was full. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're in the Newport area.

It was a perfect evening for the beginning of Autumn. Still a bit warm, but the fogs began to roll in at sunset. The sand was soft and warm and the air smelled salty and perfect. Plus, watching the ships roll in was quite the spectacle!

Beautiful and family friendly, the beach is clean and has exciting species of plants such as yellow beach verbena and you often spot seals in the water just near the shore carefully studying the beach visitors.
