Great area to rest after a long trip. Short walk to the beach. Be sure to visit the Memorial Center while you're there.

This is an awesome little piece of Oregon coast history. The view from the lighthouse is well worth the walk up.

There isn't a whole lot to look at. The history sounds interesting but the pictures online make it seem more impressive then it actually is. The structure is nothing special, and is completely fenced off with no way to walk up to it. Maybe it would look better without the modern tower next to it. I read that the coast guard no longer owns it, but the appearance of the site suggests otherwise. This is one site on the Oregon Coast that can be skipped.

If you like seeing the lighthouses of Oregon don't miss this one. Nice trail down to the beach from here as well. Don't forget to enjoy the view of the bridge from this site. This place is the closest Captain James Cook ever got to Oregon. He couldn't find anywhere to come ashore.

Thank you both! ☀️
You can not go inside the lighthouse. Very beautiful park though, I definitely recommend walking around.
It's closed Monday and Tuesday for the winter, plan your visit between noon and 4 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
Yes, it's a Victorian Mourning Wreath. It's over the parlor fireplace
