PSA: been going to KP for decades and they recently put the kibosh on turning a blind eye to tumblers with booze. Now EVERYONE just carries little plastic booze bottles for their mixers and drops the plastic in the water. KP is a five-star experience but is a one-star for what they're new policy is doing for plastic in the river.... the hippie in me says, three star average :)

Andrew is a great guide!

This is the best park to go snorkeling and swimming
THE ULMAN FAMILY
They do need to update their website.

If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone
60 inch diameter tubes/floats were the max allowed on the river at The KP Hole the last time that I checked on their website, I believe.
Hi Katie... They do have boats and tubes to rent. I'm not sure of the pricing though
Actually I was told unless you put in on private property if you put in at any public access place there is a size limit to the float it cannot be longer than 60 in it has to be 60 in by 100 in or less I have been trying to find someone in the area that may have land on the river that I possibly know or a family member does that would allow us to access the river on their property so that we can float to the bridge with our big float all together
There are many variables including how far down you want to go. Two hours for the average shorter run and 4 hrs for the longer one
I don't think reservations are needed as they have plenty of kayaks to rent.
$25 per person includes tube rental & return shuttle
You can park your car at swampies restaurant and use aquatic wilderness to take you to the top of the river and then you come back to where your car is after you paddle down the river
If you are tubing down the river get there by 1 in case they are busy.
You should ask them. But usually it is 12 years old. Call 📞 them up. They are very helpful
Ample parking. Just go. Or, rent canoe or paddle board or kayak at swampys and paddle east against the current, or go to park lands, WMD wildlife management district, pay 20 and paddle west downstream. Many ways to enjoy Rainbow river.
Take them, but protect them. Proper flotation, sunscreen, take a Pedialyte in the cooler just so that throughout the day, in this heat, you can do a little rehydration. Make sure theyre drinking fluids prior...prevent problems instead of react to them. Same for everyone. It's summer, In Florida. Make sure you are, and stay hydrated.
NO. Parking at Swampys is for their customers only. Vehicle will be towed. You can park across the river or at overflow parking on San Jose Blvd.
KP hole is a County Park. Contact the county office Marion County.
The price to launch your own paddle craft is $5 each, which includes parking
Hello Mariana. KP Hole Park does rent kayaks. Check out parks.marionfl.org.
I seen plenty of families drifting down river together, I believed they do have ropes or just hold eachother from the handles. I do know that you have to rent the tubes from them as personal tubes are prohibited
There are boats that take divers up river and drop them in, then they float down and hit different dive holes.
Never, kp hole is very clean.
It's $5. I go 3 or 4 times a month.
I I understand it takes 4 hrs from what I was told
Yes but you cant use your own floats
Yep
Yes you can use your own tube make sure is not bigger than 55 inches. the thing with the transportation is one person pays for the ride back where you park and the rest of the group can wait, that way you can save money. It will be good idea to call and make sure they still open since is off season. also try to be early in the morning because the parking space is limited.
Sorry, they don't allow pets.
About 4 hrs but we paddled upstream to the head spring in tje state park for about 45 minutes its beautiful up there .you can see where the water coming from .
You just go there and wait for the next one to come there really wasn't a set time. Didn't take long though.maybe 15 minute wait when we got there
I believe 4 PM
Yes we brought our own tubes for tubing just had to pay 7 dollars that way for tubing cause had my own. So yes they allow your own equipment.
Yeah, you are on your owe with those.
No, they have a bus that would bring everyone back for $5 a person I believe.
I recently paid $10 to launch with my own tube. It would be another $5 for a tube. The shuttle was $7. The State Park offers a 2 hour float with a tube and transportation for $20
You can bring soda as long as its in a non disposable container.so no cans or bottles. Everything you has to be in a nom disposable container
There is small swimming area. I would recommend the rainbow springs state park for swimming. It is cheaper and there is a bigger swimming area.
Like 37 feet
Not if you can swim faster than your friends, lol, seriously though it's Florida so if it's fresh water then there's gators in it, we've seen several in the river over the years but never been attacked, the park usually removes them if they get around 5 feet long, DON'T swim at night! And if the water is salty then there's sharks in it, don't worry most folks make it out of Florida alive.
Usually you launch from KP hole and get picked up down river, by a bridge. Bring sunscreen and something to drink, have fun
No you can't. Also no glass or plastic containers. This is why it is so beautiful here. Rarely any trash. support local places for drinks. The Blue Gator is awesome for food and drinks. Live bands on weekends.
So, U can take the pets on the actual river but not the swim area?
They've had larger boats launch so I would say yes. There is a fee for launching though.
Yes
No just keep them safe and watch them at all times.
Yes, it is a pet friendly place, however I would most certainly check the local leash laws to ensure you avoid drama.
No limit on size of tube and yes can bring coolers
I think it's $5/person for park entry.
Yes, there are many people who bring canoes and kyaks.
I know they take Divers up the River to do a Drift Dive.
