It's a great place to see water falls and do hikes... They have various trails, the famous ones are hanging Rock (1.3mile), Indian creek (3.6mile) and window fall (0.4mile). Must visit place. Do checkout the swim area on the other side of the trails. It's a lake converted into swim area with diving boards and all. So pack ur swimwear it takes off the sweat from the hike. Have fun like we had.

What can I say about Hanging Rock? It's one of my favorite places. I've been coming to Hanging Rock since I was a kid. Beautiful park, so much to see! There are a lot of great trails inside and outside the park.

This place is breathtaking. But let me tell you ... Com prepared. My family and I hike every weekend. We have trekking poles, hiking shoes, and we carry our 2 year old in a hiking backpack. This was NO easy hike. You have to quite literally climb actually rocks to get to the top and go up 2000 ft in elevation. It is hard and we had to take a lot of breaks. It was well worth it for the views when we got to the top. The waterfalls are cute as well (not as large as ones you'd see in Asheville but beautiful nonetheless.) There is a visitor center with bathrooms and a water refill station. Highly recommend for serious hikers and people with appropriate hiking 🥾 footwear and accessories!

I wish I had more time to explore this park. The few trails that I hiked were breathtaking. From the top of the mountain showing what fall colors are all about, to the waterfall and rock structures along the way. You will never be bored. The best part is there truly are a variety of different level trails from beginner, intermediate to expert. So everyone can find a trail to suit their needs.
Tried ro reserve for the night a camping spot . But it was to close to the day. Does anyone know if you can just walk in? No reservations required or do i absolutely need to plan in advance? Just a over night trip for me and my teens? Help.

You always can walk in and book any site that's not reserved after paying the fees at park office or at caping spot#42 after office hours
Instead of purchasing a one day pass to swim, do they have a season pass? Also, do they give a Senior/Disabled discount? And is there handicapped parking? Thank you!
Dang, my bad. Yes I meant April 13th. I was wondering about companies that the web page mentioned. I have not been to the park's Visitors Center since I saw the announcement. So I don't know if the are brochures.
I believe it closes at 5.45pm but depends on staff availability during summer months . Please check at the park office before entering swimming area. Swimming charges apply too. $5 for adults(age 13 and above) and $4 for children.
Absolutely not (Update) I think I just figured out what was being asked. I think they meant to ask, "Do you all expect to have food trucks for the July party at Hanging Rock?" If so then I would call the local park office and ask or provide the suggestion for future events.
I was there 3 days ago and rarely lost service with Verizon and had LTE connection at least half the time. Signals can come and go in the woods, but reception is great at the summits and near any developed area of the park.

Yes, there are many picnic tables and a few shelters at the park. The lake is a great place to picnic, but for the very hardy souls, the view at the top of the tower on Moore's Wall Loop Trail can't be beat, in my humble opinion.
Free to enter. Swimming cost $6 for 13 and older and $4 for 3 to 12 year olds. You can rent canoes and rowboats for $7 an hour. Camping sites can be reserved and any site not reserved are a first come first serve basis. Each site can have different fees so you would need to check online for those. I think that's everything.
I believe so. The reservation system is pretty informative. They also have spots for camp ground host, if you want to stay long term, and help out around the area. I would call the park for details.
It depends on your endurance and physical capabilities. But, the average time is 2.5 hrs round trip. That includes Bout 30 mins on top looking and photoing. Hope that helps. It is well worth the time, effort and work.
No I do believe the only way you would be staying at Hanging Rock is if you ran into one of the cabins I do not know if they have tents if so I've never seen one.
Is there camping on the Dan river for a kayak camping trip.

I believe so I remember seeing a site called danrivercampgrounds. Com so I believe there's got to be more I figure a quick search on the net will help you out. Good luck hopefully I will send help to you
12 and under was $4 and older was $5. I took grandkids and I wasn't swimming so I got in free. Did see soft coolers and chairs but no umbrellas or canopies. There is shade in the grassy terraced area beside the beach.
The longest is Indian creek or hiking out to Torys Falls and back Indian Creek is a fun trail do that with the bluffs trail males a nice lollipop route of around 7 miles
