I live right down the road and I have been here dozens of times. The sandwiches are Good here Not the best in the world but definitely The best anywhere near Danbury. The staff is so friendly and the place is kept very clean. If you are in Danbury I recommend going there to get some food over any of the other options for sure.

Location location location. At the foot of the entrance to hanging rock you can't beat the location of this little cafe. The food is well made but the portions are fairly small. I ordered a Reuben which tasted pretty good, but it was like half a sandwich worth of ingredients on two full slices of bread. I ended up making a normal sized half of a sandwich out of it and threw away half the bread. The side was about two tablespoons worth of potato salad. I'll continue to go there but only because there's not much around to compete with it.

Great place to stop in for a quick, quality, satisfying lunch in Danbury. We were visiting Hanging Rock State Park and came here for lunch after a morning of hiking. River Rock was clean, the staff were friendly, and the food was filling. Good variety on the menu-I had the Rancher and my husband had the Fire Tower sandwich.
