Was at the ER with my husband. Great care and very friendly staff.

I called in and talked to a nurse she referred me to the ER at W.G.Hefner. I drove over an hour to get here I checked in and they checked my blood pressure and temperature and was told to sit in the waiting room I had four people come in behind me which I had been sitting for over an hour. They seen all 4 of them and I’m still sitting in the the waiting room and it has now been 3 hours. Nurse come out the back standing around laughing and joke. They see that I have been sitting her for a long time but no one bothers to ask or check on me at all! I could see it it was busy but it’s not. It truly shows that they don’t even care at all. Veterans get treated like we are nothing on a daily basis and it doesn’t matter to them at all. I got up and asked the receptionist. Only thing she could say was they see separate people. Didn’t bother to call to check or not. Just went back laughing with other nurses. If I wasn’t in pain I would not have driven over an hour to come here! It is also sad that no one will take this seriously and we as veterans will continue to get the same poor treatment.

VA catches alot of flak, but they have been nothing but good to me. Keep up the good work!
Bearded Yeti
Your parking lot attendant tried to open my vehicle!! Really?! I had to park in the front lot run in (parking garage is across campus) because I was running late for my appt. I understand it's valet parking but it was empty and it was 2 in the afternoon and this lady maybe 60ish with gray hair walked over to my truck and was trying to open the doors to my vehicle and then she yells at me... just wow

If they do answer, and you are a female, they automatically transfer you to Kernersville- apparently, there is an operator who thinks all female veterans go to Kernersville.... she even said my doctor’s name, so I know she looked in the computer. You probably callled when she was there and on a smoke break! I apologize to you - dealing with the VA is frustrating on SO many levels!!
Walk in or call the mental health depth
Hello. It is in Bldg. 21 on the second floor.
Check with them at bldg #42 RMS
You will need to register for care in Charlotte
Volunteers can't answer phones. The MSA workers (receptionists/ phones) are chronically understaffed, they are literally always hiring more people. It's the worst job in the system and pays very little. Those poor workers have no control over anything and take abuse every day from all sides. A lot of people can't take it for long. I've worked there for 10 years and feel terrible for them, they deserve to make double what they get payed.
Alot depends on if he was service connected, how long he was in, and etc. I would contact the VA this week during regular business hours and get a operator on the line. Then tell them what your question is and they should be able to refer you to someone that can help. If not, start at the chaplains office or the library at VA. Also you can check with the local county VSO, veterans service officer. Another resource might be online with NC4Vets. I hope this helps.
I went to a orthopedic surgeon in Building 21.
Ive found when you call dail the extension if your primary care provider then a operator will pick up they will have your schedulers call you soon. Now if you really need to talk to one of the nurses. Tell the operator you need nurse triage asap to do a phone evaluation they will determine if you need to go to ER or what. I might add thats M-F 8-4. If its outside of that and you feel bad just go on to ER.

ED IS OPEN EVERYDAY 24 7
That would be wonderful! You may call (704) 638-9000 extension 13906 for our Voluntary Services department. They can distribute any donations appropriately.
I know both Kernersville and Salisbury have dialysis units but would call to confirm if in operation.
I have never looked at it that way before. I myself is a combat vet, however I wasn't injured while I was in service. I go just for regular check-ups. I used to go to Salisbury, but live closer to the Kernersville location now. Still no difference in care. Good luck to ya.
You can try patient advocate.
Call and speak with the AOD in the emergency department. It will be open but people might call out. I'll be there.....
Extension 12022
Building 42
I would call and ask for someone in the eligibility office. They aren't the ones who set that up but they should know exactly who to contact for that. That is awesome btw! Plenty of Veteran's would appreciate that, it's hard to find rides from those places sometimes.
Yes you can. Go to the Agent Cashiers office on the first floor of Building 3.
I dont have any idea. I always have to go there & ask.
Yes they do have mri an ct machines
I'm really not sure about the regular hospital rooms but my dad was in ICU and we only got to stay for like 2 hours. And no visitors after 7:30 pm. I think you can visit from like 7am to 7pm. The front desk can answer all your questions a little better.
Good morning. We apologize that you could not get an answer on the phone... to utilize a community ER, you will need to notify your VA doctor or the folks in Community Care ASAP so they can work with the hospital to process your claim. I can have someone reach out to you if need be... please let me know. Thank you. Hope all is okay.
It's just this virus. Been tested twice before I could have procedures
Hedrick St. entrance.
The side gate on Brenner avenue is open
Turn right from Jake. Turn left beside black fence after traintrack
If you enter from Brenner Avenue turn left in front of Building 2 onto Main St. Then turn right in between blg 2 and bld 4 onto Military Ave and go to the stop sign at the end. Then turn left onto Freedom Drive. Then take the first right onto Revielle Rd (towards the State Vet Home) you will have to turn right in front of the state Vet home. Follow that road down towards the buildings at the end. Building 7 will be on the right. If you Google Salisbury VA map there are color picture maps of the campus available there
There are many programs and resources to help homeless and at-risk veterans, including a Transitional Residence building at the Salisbury VAMC. Call (704) 638-9000 x 13699 or 16299 and talk with one of the social workers.
I'm sure you can. Just address them to Veteran Patients at W.G. Bill Hefner Medical Center.
I suppose you are speaking of the VA. 16 words and still ambiguous at best.
Let them know what time your appointment is. They just want to make sure that the room is ready for others, the rooms are cleaned on 1st shift. Hopefully this is helpful for you. They didn't have this for you at one time.
Go through the operator they'll get you to the right extension
If you get ahold of DEERS they can get you rolling to make sure you can check your status of anything. Also myhealthyvet and ehealth will help you find those answers.
No
Stay in Hoptel
Call main number, dial 0 for operator, if patient opts in for calls , operator can connect.
There's a buzzer you missed by the entryway to the ER when you push it the security us suppose to come let you inside , just the way times are they want to be secure and keep employees and patients secure from harm!
I'm assuming that when you called the VA's main number and went through the operator you were directed to the Emergency Department? The operator can check on a name and tell you if the person is there or not and then she can direct you to the specific number of someone who can tell you the status.
If the labs were done at the VA . All VA's can access them records through CPRS.
Hey pheobe . Its Katherine call me tomorrow at ext. 12785 if need m help with anything. Have a good night!
Because they don't care. They tried to kill me. I've since moved my care back into town. Thank God. Doc Tuttle dam near killed me. Consider them not helping you a blessing.
The first building to your right when you come through the main entrance.
Yes there is a homeless Vet program at the VA Medical Center
Sleep labs are conducted in Building 21 (Specialty Clinics). Yes, there are individual rooms and no, they are not motel rooms. They are hospital rooms. In some cases a tele-sleep study can be conducted and it can actual be done remotely in your own house if you have the sufficient internet connectivity but I don't know personally if they are doing that yet or what the specific requirements are. Ask your primary care physician for more info.
