My husband is a Navy veteran and we have our doctors and prescriptions thru the V. A. in Northampton, Ma. We will be coming to Charlotte, N.C for the winter months. What procedures do we need to follow before coming to your VA in Charlotte?

You will need to register for care in Charlotte

I wish I could help but I do not know the answer. Maybe you can contact the VA to get better advice

Since VA is nationwide all he needs is a VA ID

You will as they said register at the VA Charlotte clinic, but if you need to go to an urgent care center for a right now but not life threatening condition in order for you not to have to pay out tha caboose our VA hospital is in Salisbury NC approx 45 to 50 mins from Charlotte (depending on ur location) I dont believe you have to sign up there but i would just because Charlotte does Not have all areas of clinics at our outpatient facility so they would send u to Salisbury VA. I hope we have answered ur question and if you have anymore about the VA or even some about Charlotte dont hesitate to ask. Be blessed

Edward is correct. Even if only temporary or split year, each facility must have veteran registered to receive services. This is done to share records and mainly keep continuity of care. Also, you should contact each VA every time service switched in order to maintain this continuity of care. Best wishes, hope this helps, and God bless you/family for serving our country!🙏
