Beautiful , well kept beach that is not busy. Very relaxing and so peaceful. The lighthouse is so pretty!

We came here with family and had a great time. The beach was clean and there were plenty of lifeguards for the kids. We brought our own cooler and canopy. I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks because the selection at the snack bar is limited and pricey. The waves weren't too big and the kids had a great time jumping around in the surf. It stays shallow for quite a ways and we had a blast swimming. The parking lot had plenty of space, but it is quite a walk to the sand, so keep that in mind when deciding what to bring.

I've gone here almost every summer and I've found new things to do every time!!! I recommend the observation tower at sunset, it's breathtaking. Rehoboth Beach is very close which is nice.

Beautiful!! There is a 10$ entry fee per non resident car!! The water was clean clear slightly cold for June!! Pls any of parking spots available. We didn’t have to walk much you can drive everywhere unless you want to; several trails available.

Yes they are free. They take the last request I believe at 2pm. They close at 3pm. They require your license as collateral and the max time is 2 hours to keep the bike.
It is what remains of the post incinerator
Yes and you can also do kiteboarding along with a number of other beach related activities
Most beaches do but I do know that some beaches demand the dog be on a 6foot leash. And there is one beach that is protected for there highly concentrated bird nesting and dogs are not aloud but it's CLEARLY POSTED AT EACH BEACH about there RULES :)
Yes.
It is open but they are capping admittance to 60% of parking capacity.
I believe when I was on their website it said that they had cabins with and without, and some with just and electric outlet on the site at a pole so I believe they do. I haven't ever stayed in the cabins to be honest so double check the website!
They are former military watch towers for enemy ships and submarines. There is one at Cape Henlopen that is open on scheduled days that you can go inside. There are also a number of munitions batteries throughout the park and the Hawk watch is built on top of one.
There is a bicycle and walking trail from CHSP to Gordons Pond (Gordons Pond parking area). This trail will also go to Lewes following the old railroad tracks.
So there's a beach you can drive on but, you shouldn't swim in that water because people are fishing?
Daily pass $5.00 in state and $10.00 out of state covers all Seashore Park areas. Can also get a 3 day pass and season pass at the marina.
Yes, a very long pier. Probably about 1/4 mile long out into the protected bay. They have a very large cape surrounded by rock walls that keep the waves away from the pier. The water around the fishing pier is calm, and smooth as glass. The pier is also lit up with streetlights so you can fish at night. Also restrooms at the beginning of the pier. Quite convenient. Daytime there is a bait shop open as well. Very fun place to fish. Good luck !!
Dump stations but you do have water and electric
Yes!!! But on a leash and you must follow the rules of etiquette and bring a bag!!!
Fishing pier is open for sunrise
To be honest Donna, I have no idea. I can't see why it wouldn't be. The beaches in Lewes, Rehoboth etc are fair game. It would definitely be worth a call to the Park Rangers office. Good Luck.
I'm sorry, but I am not familiar with the layout of the cabins. The RV sites are on top of each other as per normal, most of the tent sites have at least decent spacing some with excellent spacing. The g loop is where it's at for tents. I'm sorry I couldn't answer your question.
No, not in that vehicle. Unless you got a Quigley 4x4 conversion. However, you can pull into the campsite for like 35.00 a nite.
Early morning, early afternoon. The last time i went I was out for 10 hours. Went in the am and high tide didn't come in until about 6/7
Dogs are not allowed on the beach from May 1st through October 1st.
There are lots of bike trails that are fine for kids. Mostly flat with nice scenery.
Even though I saw lots of RV's on the way there and back, I have no idea where would the closest RV parking would be. Try googling or just call the park office and they can tell you. They are very helpful BTW!
We were there till after 6pm yesterday
8 am
I was there on Sunday and I saw some people camping so I think you should be fine.
I like turtles, what's your question?
Yes http://www.dnrec.delaware.gov/fw/fisheries/pages/newfishinglicense.aspx
Go to the website for Cape Henlopen and you can reserve a site through reserveamerica.com
We stay at the Beacon Motel in Lewes which is only about a mile away from the Cape Henlopen entrance
There is a pay box at the front entrance $5 for in state $10 out of state.
There are several trails in the park. I do not know the length of any of them. There are maps on the website for the park that might provide an answer.
The tent sites have water but no electricity. Nice park. We will be back. There are sites for campers with tents in them. These have both water and electricity. That is what I will get next time there. I need electricity for cpap use. Have fun.
My wife has Sprint. She says it's shoddy. But overall service for all carriers is reasonable. The closer to the coastline, the weaker the signal.
If you want camp on the sand you can try assateague island but be ready for the horses around you.
The booking site doesn't really allow for that. It's booked under one person's name. You could try and work something out with someone privately though.
You can walk or bike on to the park for free. But if you drive in there is a fee.
You can also buy a yearly permit which gets your carload unlimited visits. In State 35.00 in State, 70.00 out of State.
No smoking is permitted at the public beaches, or the fishing pier. Also in any of the park buildings
Use is free from 9-4 weather permitting you get them for 2 hours and need to stay in the park also
There is some. They have a sheltered pavilion that has some and also at the park by the visitor center and it has basketball hoops, slide, and swings. It has 2 grills.
You can walk or drive
Not allowed on the beach after May. Allowed on beach September through May on a leash.
I would give them a call and ask or look on their website.
Yes. You will love it. Book now because the summer sells out fast. We are tent campers too. Cape Henlopen is where we take our friends camping when they are in town.
Yes there is camping in the winter time. But would have to check the Delaware state park website for prices.
