Yes, there are tent only areas that are separate from the RV camping area. There are woods, beach, walking / bicycling trails, and the bath houses are well maintained.
I'm more of a mountain guy. Though, Cape Henlopen is otherworldly : birds, deer, rabbits, reptiles, sunsets, eastern pines.
Try an pick a site with shade...it will make all the difference during the day.
